This is a great blog to read for any gardener or wanttobe a gardener (like me)!
When I first started my cut flower farm, I remember reading this advice from an older, wiser farmer:
“When you plant a cut flower garden, be sure at least 1/3 of the plants in the cutting garden are grown for foliage/greenery.”
I'll be honest.
I didn't want to grow a bunch of “boring” Foliage.
I didn't want to grow “Filler” types of flowers.
I just wanted to grow all the BIG, BRIGHT, BOLD Focal flowers like Dahlias, Lilies, Peonies, Sunflower and Zinnias.
So I did.
And quickly realized with dismay that without Filler and Foliage… I couldn't make bouquets! 😳
That season on my farm was nearly a complete bust for bouquets. I was constantly scrounging around the farm, looking for any Filler and Foliage I could find. It was frustrating… and even a little embarrassing!
I want to make sure this doesn’t happen to you.
Today on the Three Acre Farm blog, I’m sharing my solution to this problem so you’ll always have what you need to craft gorgeous bouquets.
