Said a Blade of Grass
BY KAHLIL GIBRAN
Said a blade of grass to an autumn leaf, “You make such a noise falling! You scatter all my winter dreams.”
Said the leaf indignant, “Low-born and low-dwelling! Songless, peevish thing! You live not in the upper air and you cannot tell the sound of singing.”
Then the autumn leaf lay down upon the earth and slept. And when spring came she waked again—and she was a blade of grass.
And when it was autumn and her winter sleep was upon her, and above her through all the air the leaves were falling, she muttered to herself, “O these autumn leaves! They make such noise! They scatter all my winter dreams.”

Haere mai koanga. Welcome spring!
The garden is providing daily wonders, I'm loving watching it transform, it really does happen rapidly! This morning I took a quick walk through the garden to check on a magnolia tree which, last night hadlooked super close to bursting, this morning one bud had started and tonight there is a small handful of blooms!!! 🌸💕🌸💕🌸💕🌸
Covid rules are still constricting and challenging us, some are feeling this more than others. I'm feeling grateful to have my family close, space and a bit of a plan. And my thanks and thoughts for those essential workers who continue with the cogs, no matter what the situation.
Kia kaha!
Thanks so much if you have made enquiries about the garden for your event. I haven't had access to my email acc for a couple of days, but it's back online now and I'll be replying tomorrow.

1st - 30th September is bee awareness month, the apiculture nz website is an excellent resource to find plants to that help our pollinators.
Check for Linda's gardening blog in the comments section for tips. My number 1 take away this week is to get the lawns prepped for spring sowing 😊
