Family Kitchen with Mark We are a Wellington-based Artisan Sourdough Doughnut & Catering company offering various delicious products.

Our new mini-celebratory doughnuts come in 6 flavour combinations and are 70% the size of our regular favourites but still 100% taste! Living in New Zealand with all this great produce and amazing landscape, it really is a paradise to behold. Home for the last seventeen years, I’m originally from Kent in the UK. I’ve worked in hospitality all my life and now run my own business called Family Kitch

After a week of active feeding, our sour starter is NOW ready to use.
Add your culture to any dough of your choosing; bread, tortilla, pizza, enriched breads like brioche etc, scones, dumplings.
I'll develop/post a recipe using the quantity you have either tomorrow or Tuesday.
If not using, refrigerate or freeze for later use.

The Beginning

Requests and suggestions from friends that I start my own food channel came to fruition during the devastating Covid pandemic. I had a lot more time on my hands, was working from home and thought it was the perfect time to launch my channel.

I’ve worked as a chef for most of my career choosing to cook in fine dining restaurants for some very talented chefs and business owners. Although I currently live in New Zealand and have been for the last ten years almost all of my chef positions have been in London, Brisbane and Vancouver.

Food is a real passion of mine and I’m often pushing my home kitchen to the limit treating it like an industrial space with no limits. Decadent fine dining cuisine is fascinating and rewarding for any chef but most of them would rather eat comfort food at home or in restaurants. It’s for this reason that I decided that if I was to launch a channel it would be about food that can easily produced at home. Food doesn’t have to be dressed up to appeal it can be the simplest dish created that people remember.

The Family Kitchen with Mark channel posts weekly demonstrations on a wide variety of foods with each dish being able to cook in 30 minutes or less. I may use some time saving equipment like a pressure cooker on occasions but both the preparation and cooking techniques used are easy to follow and clearly explained.
