Had a great night at AWA Nation 2! Melanie Berg, aka Mel from Hell, faced off against Mel Hapi from AWA Queens in Whanganui, a cool matchup with Mel from Hell taking the win. Big thanks to Mel Hapi for the dance and to AWA Kings and Lee Ashford for the opportunity and warm welcome at one hell of a show!

CAPITAL PUNISHMENT 72 – AN EPIC NIGHT OF ACTION!
What an unforgettable event! The atmosphere was electric, the fights were intense, and the crowd brought the energy to another level. Combat sports are truly best experienced live—nothing compares to the thrill of being in the arena!
A huge thank you to all the fighters, trainers, gyms, and of course, our incredible supporters in the crowd. Special appreciation goes out to our sponsors LifeDirect, Sinatras Tattoo Studio, and The Agency—your support makes these nights possible. And a big shoutout to those warriors who stepped up on short notice!
With 16 thrilling fights, including 5 Full Thai Rules bouts, a professional fight, and an NZ Title match, this was our best show yet. The level of skill and dedication continues to rise, and we’re blown away by the talent on display.
From the opening bell, the action was non-stop!
🔥 MAIN EVENT SHOWDOWN:
Angus "Inferno" Lindsay and Liam Farron delivered another absolute war. Their first clash was legendary, but this time, they both took it to an even higher level. With precision, power, and incredible movement, Angus emerged victorious, claiming the gold after an unforgettable battle.
🏆 TITLE DEFENSE:
Zion Perry successfully defended his NZ Title with a third-round victory over the always-dangerous Anurag Thapli. Both fighters showed why they’re among the best in the game!
💥 SPECIAL AWARDS:
🥊 LifeDirect Fight of the Night: Finn Leary vs. Matariki Black – an absolute war that had the crowd on their feet!
🛡 Sinatras Spartan Warrior Award: Ben Cushman – a true display of heart and grit, earning him a well-deserved tattoo voucher!

Fight sports are often seen as individual pursuits by those outside the game, but on the inside, we know they are true team sports. Behind every fighter stands a dedicated team, and beyond that team is the incredible fight community that supports and pushes us forward.

Our opponents are often our greatest teachers, and we are fortunate to share this journey with such a passionate and supportive group of people.

In fight promotions, challenges are inevitable—injuries, illness, and last-minute changes can reshape the fight card. But what truly defines our sport is the fighters and teams who step up when it matters most.

For this weekend’s show, we are incredibly grateful to two warriors and their teams for taking fights on short notice, ensuring their opponents still get the chance to step into the ring and grow from the experience.

A huge shoutout to Kryan Stone from Kapiti Thaiboxing, who is making his debut and has stepped up at short notice—massive respect to him, Adam, and the whole team.

Much appreciation as well to Dre Flavell from the legendary South Island Lee Gar, who has jumped in with just a week's notice.

Your dedication and warrior spirit embody what this sport is all about. Thank you both! As always, the show goes on, and what a fight card we have ahead…
