Eagerly anticipated recommended 2024 reading list incoming! Note that I read a lot of escapism smutty romances involving cowboys and ice hockey players, but there are a few other gems scattered through this list too.

Best romance series and new author – Mixed Signals, Business Casual, and In The Weeds by BK Borison (Lovelight Farms series)

Best EQUAL #1 cowboy-series(es)-that-I-never-knew-I-needed-in-my-life-and-binged – Powerful, A Photo Finish, Reckless, Wild Love, and Heartless by Elsie Silver

Best EQUAL #2 cowboy-series-that-I-never-knew-I-needed-in-my-life-and-binged – Swift and Saddled, and Done and Dusted by Lyla Sage

Weirdest book / best book club read – Shark Heart by Emily Habeck

Best romance series including neurodivergent POV – Bergman series by Chloe Liese (including Ever After Always)

Best continuing series as well as the longest reads – Saving 6, Redeeming 6, and Taming 7 by Chloe Walsh (Binding 13 series)

Best opposites-attract romance – Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez

Best second-chance romance – The Rule Book by Sarah Adams

Saddest best book – One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot by Marianne Cronin

Best Bachelor-world spinoff – Not Here to Make Friends by Jodi McAlister

Best new author (for me!) with a huge back catalogue to work through – The Mistake, The Graham Effect, Girl Abroad, and That Summer Girl by Elle Kennedy

Best new author (for me!) influenced by booktok – Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer (this author is also a romantasy writer, but
I liked this book the most out of her works; it will also make you cry)

Best EQUAL #1 ice hockey romance series – Mile High, The Right Move, and Caught Up by Liz Tomforde

Best EQUAL #2 ice hockey romance series – Consider Me, Play Unravel Me, and Fall Into Me by Becka Mack

Best queer-sci-fi-just-keep-reading-the-twist-is-coming-and-its-getting-made-into-a-movie – The Darkness Outside Us by Elio Schrefer

Best embarrassed-to-read-in-public-due-to-spicy-loves – Emily Rath’s Pucking Around [made we really question the diary organisational skills needed for this romance; possibly not the point of this book], Pucking Wild, and Pucking Sweet

Best sequel – Somewhere Beyond the Sea by TJ Klune

Best (?) “Me Too” (was also my first read of the year) – Soulless: The Case Against R Kelly by Jim DeRogatis

Best author who consistency writes 5 star books – Funny Story by Emily Henry

Book that made me yell “louder for people in the back” – Dress Coded by Carrie Firestone

Best series re-read-alongside-movies-for-the-sh*t-show-year-that-was-2024 – Twilight (and others) by Stephenie Meyer

Best title – That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Potion at a Warewolf by Kimberly Lemming [yes I also read the other two in this series]

Happy reading in 2025 all xx

Well last week was a special one for our whanau.
We got to witness my baby brother .grange.nz marry the love of his life . It was pretty intimate, beautiful, spectacular and I can't wait to share more gorgeousness from these babes.
But right now, I'm sitting with love in my heart, and stoked that I get to play a small part in many people's love stories ❤️ Including my baby brother and new sister.

I am blaming one of my kids for the first, and the husband/renovations, for the other 🤣

I am based in Wellington, New Zealand and have been a registered civil union and marriage celebrant for the last seven years with over 200 wedding ceremonies under my belt! I very much enjoy helping happy couples celebrate their love, while aiding them with this important step of celebrating their lives, their love and their families together. I am happy to undertake any ceremony no matter how unique the couple is; love is love.

I do love officiating ceremonies for everyone and weddings that have families with children (including fur children). I love intimate weddings (cough*elopements*) as well as couples with something a bit ‘different’ and kooky. I also have a wealth of contacts in the marriage industry and can point you in the right direction for your wedding plans – including wedding photographers, florists, dressmakers and venues. I excel at crisis management and can help smooth over any last minute issues that crop up on your special day so you don’t have to; it is your day to relax and enjoy celebrating your love in front of family and friends.

Contact me on my website - https://zander.nz/contact/ - as I’ve love to hear more about your plans! Heaps of wedding photos and inspiration on my blog too.
