On this Day: 25/04/1960

The Whanganui War Memorial Centre was opened on ANZAC Day 1960 and was constructed as a living memorial to the 375 service Men and Women from Whanganui who lost their lives during World War II.

A Service of Commemoration is held on the Forecourt each year

All ex-service personnel, members of the RSA Women's Section, all kindred associations and members of the public are invited to attend the ANZAC Parade and Service this Thursday.

The Parade will begin at 6.15am sharp, followed by the Service of Commemoration at 7am, on the War Memorial Centre Forecourt.

The conference aims to bring together experts, researchers, professionals, advocates, and those with lived experience, to deepen understanding and ability to respond to traumatic brain injuries, caused by interpersonal violence.
Through knowledge exchange, collaboration, and innovative solutions, the aim is to enhance prevention strategies, support systems, and survivor-centred interventions.
