We have a passion for the great outdoors, and find that many people share that passion, regardless of where they're from, where they live, work or play. We also think that if more people had a strong bond with nature we would be less likely to destroy it. We're here to serve as that small strand of connection, and hopefully make that much of a difference. Our trips take you to the heart of the tro

pical jungles, but not just to see them, take your pictures and go back home. We'd like to take you to places where there's nothing man-made, and where nature calls the shots... But we'd like you to stay a little longer until the light starts fading, the owls start hooting, and the frogs croaking... Stay and spend some time, maybe a night or two, breathing in the scent of the living Earth, and perhaps you'll go back to your home feeling just a bit different, a bit changed from moment you first hiked in. Come along and join us on our next adventure of the mind and the spirit!!! Disclaimer: We're not spiritual healers, drug enthusiasts, or preachers. We just take you there and let nature work its magic!

This ankle-high river crossing normally takes us 2 minutes to complete. Now in the rainy season the river is deep and the crossing required several shuttles by canoe to get 17 people over to the other side. Jungle trekking in the rainy season is a completely different animal.

Our little hammock village in this enchanted forest was a welcome respite from several days of rain in the Darien Gap. Today at least the sun came out, the afternoon was pleasant, and the jungle smiled at us again!

Successful completion of the Wilderness First Responder Recertification course with NOLS Patagonia. The irony of these trainings is that you work so hard at honing your skills and trying to keep them sharp, but wishing you never have to use them.

After two days of bad weather finally managed to get out for my wilderness fix. Great camping spot in a Patagonian forest with two arrayan trees perfectly positioned to accommodate a hammock. Great dinner, great sleep, great morning coffee and awesome company. No complaints here.

Great views of Villarrica and Osorno 🌋 as we land in Patagonia. Hoping the weather cooperates and we can do a short trek before heading south for a wilderness med training.

We had the pleasure of taking our friends from on a jungle hike and they came up with some great footage. (it helps if you understand some Spanish 😅) Stay tuned for the rest of the story.

Sometimes night falls and you’re still up on a mountain. The ridge doesn’t offer enough space for the whole party. So you get creative and hang down the slope. Luckily you brought a chill hammock along. In the day time it gives you a respite from the rigors of the trail, and at night it works like a “sidecar” and prevents your belongings from rolling down the hill. , , ,

Nobody said jungle trekking had anything to do with trails. Sometimes you squeeze your way through the green tangle with the help of a machete, and sometimes the river is the highway. There are no predetermined rules. The path you choose on the spot is always the right path... Or is it?

The “torrid zone” isn’t always a mud-ridden, vine-entangled, mosquito-infested green mess. Sometimes you do find these fairyland nooks hidden in the apparent disarray; but you need to know where to look 😉

It all started with an innocent stroll around Panama City in sweaty sandals several days before the expedition even started. This participant was “asymptotic”, meaning that he didn’t notice the blisters until after playing ⚽️ barefoot at a local village (great idea, btw). In the good ol’ days this would’ve been a certain evac operation, but in a raging pandemic with remote healthcare facilities overstressed you can’t just have a guy turn up on a canoe out of the jungle expecting to be treated, so we have to put up, shut up, and do our best to keep him on the expedition. So far, so good...

Way to start an expedition... Not being able to get your feet wet can be a challenge in the jungle. Any idea what happened here?
