𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥, “𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘸 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵-𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘢𝘵, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦!” 𝘚𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘶𝘭 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘪𝘯 𝘪𝘵. —𝘑𝘰𝘩𝘯 21:6

When I meditated this one scene from the bible when Jesus met the bothered and problematic Simon, my faith became vast about the way of God.

Here are the things I learned when Jesus said,
“𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘁”

1.) Casting your net means “𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗧𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗦.”
It is us saying, “God, I am trusting your will.”
“God, I am allowing you to take the lead even when I don’t understand.”

Unless our hands are empty, God can't bless us the way he wanted to bless us.

Is God still on the throne of your life?
Or is it the things that made us feel secure more than the God who divided the sea, the God who sent manna from heaven?
Or is it the worries and fears of the future?

2.) Casting your net means “𝗟𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗚𝗢𝗗.”
Give him the full control.
Not the partial, not the half of it, not just some of it. Give him everything.

When things don’t go as planned, maybe God is trying to signal a “time-out.”

As much as we want to take over, we are limited.
As much as we want to make it work the way we projected it, we have a limited view of our lives. God’s plan remains supreme.
As much as we want to have full control, we are a lousy master. We break, we fall, we fail, and we are weak.

There’s always beauty in surrender. ✨
When we can now bravely say, "God, I'm done."
I can imagine God would say, "Child, now it's my turn. Enough of your own plans. This time, trust me to make my plans visible in your life again."

3.) Casting your net means “𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗚𝗢𝗗.”
Not my direction, not their direction, but God's direction.

We are most likely to get lost when we try to maneuver our own life. Tiring, isn't it?

You aren’t supposed to do life alone.
Give him back the pen and allow him to work in the most impossible way. That way we’ll know that it’s God’s grace which carries us through, not our own capacities.

Oh, what an awesome reminder that we are not alone. He cares, and he wants to guide us, only if we obey.
