Travelers from Manila to Puerto Princesa will be charged an additional P706 fuel surcharge, as this will be in line with the rising prices of petroleum products which have made transportation costs to hike, travelers must also anticipate the higher airfares starting next week, Friday, July 1, as the surge in fuel prices also affects the operating costs of other industries, as validate by the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) on Wednesday, June 22, after they have issued a resolution raising the fuel surcharge bracket to level 11 for the succeeding month.
Under the level 11 measurement for the fuel surcharge bracket, on July 1 onwards, airlines will be allowed to collect fuel charges ranging from P355 to P1,038/passenger for domestic flights, while P1,172.07 to P8,714.84 for international flights.
In Inquirer’s interview with AirAsia Philippines and Cebu Pacific, they will be implementing the said level 11 fuel charges, while Philippine Airlines (PAL) have only said that they will keep their consumers posted.
