Public Expression and Transformation Association of LGBTQIA Students (PETALS) have concluded their first general meeting together with the outgoing and Incoming Officers, August 25, 2023.

Spearheaded by Elmi Alcaraz— Newly appointed President of PETALS Organization, together with John Jimenez—Outgoing President, conducted the meeting in preparation for the accomplishment report and bidbook for renewal which is a vital requirement for Student Organization Recognition.

In a remarkable gathering that echoed the resounding power of unity and inclusivity, student leaders from diverse backgrounds and vibrant perspectives convened at the 2023 National LGBTQI Students Network Conference held last July 4-5, 2023 in Antipolo, Rizal.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒| Nueva Vizcaya State University- Bayombong Campus resumes the Orientation Program for the new NVSU’juans at the University Gymnasium.

Freshmen and transferees were further introduced to institutional programs and services such as health and library services, security and safety services, scholarships, and financial assistance, including programs like Sports Development and Culture and the Arts.

Afterward, they participated in an open discussion to raise their concerns as new students at the university. VC

Following the event, each attendee will receive a copy of the NVSU Student Handbook.

First-ever LGBTQIA+ organization—Public Expression and Transformation Association of LGBTQIA Students (PETALS)—in NVSU attended the recently concluded 2023 National LGBTQIA+ Students Network Conference held at Cloud 9 Resort, Antipolo, Rizal, July 4-6.

The conference was organized by Jamé Berara, and 16 LGBTQIA+ student organizations nationwide participated to develop their skills and achieve a more tolerant community that brings equality and provides equal chances for all. VC

Juan and Juanas of Nueva Vizcaya State University under Public Expression and Transformation Association for LGBTQIA+ Students (PETALS) actively participated in the celebration of Pride Month organized by Bayombong Gay Circle (BGC) through pride march parade, June 30.

The said event was spearheaded by the president of BGC—Eli Dela Cruz. Through the supervision of PETALS president—John Jimenez, members of the organization including Elmi Miranda, Rean, Kenneth Peralta, Henjie Gauan, Jeda Gorobao have shared their interest in making the pride march even more engaging and interactive.

This month is not just a celebration of oneness, rather a manifestation of hope, equality, and fair treatment. A gathering for all talents, wisdom, and inspiration brought by the LGBTQIA+ community.
