From Charmaye’s Digitals, to Jmel, to Jmel Photography, and now Higayon. Different names, unique stories, one dream.. To capture life’s moments.
I remember waking up early in the morning to a dim room, opening the door, only to discover that my mom and dad had already printed dozens of shirts for a school’s foundation day. I remember the noise the warm blower makes, the smell of Tulco paint, and the sight of shirts hanging around our small home.
Moving from Buenavista to Butuan, the only thing that filled my stomach was Mega Sardines, hotdogs and corned beef, and of course everyone’s favorite, mom’s special Tinolang Isda.
From morning, to afternoon, to night, sometimes dawn and even through morning again, countless photographs, pages of albums, printed images from Mitsubishi Gaisano, I saw every drop of sweat, every hour missed for sleep, every “okay ra me ‘nak”. I knew how selfless my parents were, they did everything for us. Back then I was just a kid, so naive of what they did and who knows what they’ve been going through. And for that, today.. I am forever grateful.
To where I draw my strength from, thank you for your unconditional support to me, everything I do is for you. You are everything to me. I love you both, very much.
Looking back
We have our flaws back then.. Missing our deadlines, unsatisfied clients, lost files, and even dodging loan payments. But we always make sure we give back to our clients, to make it up to them, to somehow fix our mistakes for a better relationship with them.
Kit lenses, video cameras running on tape, skinny tripods, blue-screens, stacks of spindles yes.. we’ve been there. Exploring different places to put up a studio or an office for us to showcase our samples, to close deals in the hopes of paying for the rent, upgrading our systems and gadgets, and somehow making it through the day.
Striving to become better and to produce more beautiful outputs to not only satisfy our friends and clients but also aiming to be the most recommended event planner, event documentator and perhaps, a trusted business partner.
Gratitude
To our friends, clients and family who helped us regardless of our lapses.. Thank you. We may not be able to tell you this personally, and we may not be able to see each other or even talk most of the time.. we are grateful for all the times that you believed in us, that you didn’t gave up on us. Your efforts and concerns will forever be appreciated.
Moving forward
Reminded of the yesterdays.. today marks a new chapter. Ready to dive into unfamiliar waters, take on new terrains, and this time.. we come back better than ever. We’re up on our feet again, hungry for fresh stories waiting to be told.
