BE TRANSFIGURED!!!

Transfiguration Sunday (2023)

The Transfiguration of our Lord Jesus Christ is a pivotal moment..It is one of the highlights in the life of our Lord. We will not be discussing the in-depth theology of it..rather, just 2 important points.
1) the Transfiguration re-affirms the identity of Jesus through a voice from heaven: "This is my beloved son..."
- this affirmation:a) Jesus is above the law and the prophets; b)to strengthen His resolve of the upcoming trial and event (death on the Cross)

2) He transfigures before them: to let the Apostles (Peter, James and John) see the trasnfigured Christ.
- in the 7th century, Saint Maximus the Confessor said "that the senses of the apostles were transfigured to enable them to perceive the true glory of Christ"
- this event will: a)transfigured apostles; b)strengthen their trust and faith even when the time would come: they would see a suffering and batterred Christ.

-we will focus our attention in the second point: where can we see and experience personally the Transfigured Christ? in the Eucharist..
- meaning: everytime we attend the Mass, we must be:
1)Transfigured people
2)Strengthen our resolve to submit fully ourselves to Him

The Parable of the Sower (Mt. 13: 1-9/23)
15th Sunday (A/2023)

-Although the Parable of the Sower mentions 4 kinds of soil, - Footpath, Rocky Ground, Thorny and Good/Rich Soil - but today I invite everyone to reflect on the possibility of reducing it into just 2 kinds of soil:
1)the soil that doesnt yield a harvest: Footpath,
Rocky and Thorny

2)the soil that does yield a harvest: the Good/
Rich soil

-I believe that nobody belongs to "a soil that doesn't yield a harvest." It is based on the premise and contention that we have done at least a good deed or more in our lifetime: sino ba sa atin ang walang nagawang kabutihan kahit isa man lang sa buong buhay nya? ----------------------------WALA!!!------------------------------

-meaning?all of us are prospects, and graced/equipped by God to become good soils!!!😇..and so, we narrow down our focus of reflection: "all of us are good and rich soils."

-however, we have to remember: the good soil yields a harvest of 100, 60 and 30 fold.

-how much did we yield? today?
-how much more can we yield? after today?

-kung my natulungan tayong isa ngayon or nagawang kabutihan, then, most probably that is our yield: 1 FOLD

-can we add another 1 or more tomorrow? tonight? at this very moment?

-YES!!!that is our challenge the day after today, the moment after this moment: to yield more; to grow more..to hopefully produce an abundant harvest!!!
