Wedding Reschedule
So your wedding is affected by the enhanced community quarantine until April 30, and/or you are pressed for time to finish all necessary documents because all offices are closed? Well, you don't have to cancel, because you can ALWAYS reschedule.
But the question is, where do you begin? We rounded up easy steps to get you started on re-booking your big day.
1. Check your marriage license validity. - Your license is valid for 120 days upon issuance. This is the most important legal document you need to make sure that your wedding will be well within the bounds of law. And since you need to look for a new date, start first by checking until when your marriage license is valid (that is of course assuming you were able to get it prior to the lockdown). Once you are able to check it, you can start thinking about the dates that are within its validity.
We suppliers assume and expect though that the situation may still not be apt for continuing mass gatherings as early as May or maybe even June. Given this, you may have to adjust further. Once the lockdown is over and offices resume, you may RENEW your marriage license with your LGU.
2. Prepare 3 alternative dates. - Why three? Well just to be sure that your suppliers will be definitely available on at least one of them. Based on experience, July to September are the leanest months for weddings, so it may be wise to resched or choose a new date within these months. If you decide to move it to December 2020 to February 2021, be prepared to pay extra for some suppliers (caterers, venues, photo video), who may impose 2021 rates.
3. Inform your planner. - Now that you have a date, make sure to inform your wedding planner right away so he/she can do the legwork of asking everybody else if the date is workable. If you don't have a planner, it would be best to get one now so they can help you with the rest of the nitty gritty details of the planning process.
4. Let the wedding planner take care of it.
