May we normalize apologizing to our children when we miss it with them.

I have had to plenty - especially on the days my pregnancy or recoveries have been a lot on my body.

It is good to show them that we are accountable for our actions and to show them what grace and mercy looks like as we walk with God also.

That we do not say one thing and do another as the hypocrites do.

I have to apologize for getting loud in my frustration when I should have been slow to anger. I cannot stand yelling and it is something the Lord has definitely grew me in praise God and continues to.

I have to apologize for sending them away to get myself together when at times I should have held them tighter, for all they wanted was time with mom.

I have to apologize when I realized I may have expected too much of them.

I have to go back and round them up and look them in the eyes and example to them with the gospel of Christ looks like in a person’s walk who truly fear and loves the Lord - and is not okay with complacency and comforts of the flesh.

Mama needs Christ everyday.
She runs to Jesus for peace.
She clings to His garment for self-control.
She sit at His feet for patience and compassion with all souls.
She cries out for mercy towards others, for she herself needs mercy.
Mama is running her race, even if she stumbles, by the grace of God, she gets back up and keeps going.

Little eyes are watching.
Little ears are hearing.
Little feet are following.

Our children do not need perfect moms for they will neither be perfect, but they need mothers who acknowledge their weaknessses and boast all the more in the Lord that His strength may rest upon us. Moms who progress in Jesus Christ.

To parent is to disciple (and yes, when necessary, discipline) our young. Not to cater to them in a worldly way, but to see to them spiritually and their well-being while in our care. To see them as eternal souls who we borrow for a short while to steward well and point to Christ. To lead them and not be led by them.

I love my babies. What precious gifts from above!

For saved moms who are constantly seeking the Lord in your motherhood but find yourself falling at times, take heart. God is long-suffering and gracious. Grace not to be abused, but used to overcome. Keep getting back up with a repentant heart and sitting down with your children when they witness you miss it with them - just as you would a fellow brother or sister in the Lord.

It makes a difference, sisters.

Mama needs Jesus daily and is ever growing in His goodness - and there is nothing wrong with voicing that to them and exemplifying that with them so that they too may know when they miss it, God is there and that there is hope - for they saw with their own eyes their mama overcome her flesh and get victory in and by the Spirit of the Living God!

One day, if not already, they will arise up and call you blessed. Mine already do and that blesses my mama heart so dearly. 🌳

“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
- Psalm 1:3

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” - Psalms‬ ‭23‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭
