The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reminds passengers utilizing its airport terminals that it will not tolerate acts of improper behavior within its facilities that may compromise safety and security.

This comes after a video of a man using the public address (PA) system of an airline in Pagadian Airport circulated online. The man in the now-deleted video, who was caught blurting expletives using the PA system, has since apologized to the airline concerned.

CAAP would like to maintain the nature of airport terminals as safe and respectful spaces for all its passengers.

ALL DOMESTIC FLIGHTS RETURN TO TERMINAL 1

Cebu, Philippines – Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) shall operate all Domestic Departures and Arrivals at Terminal 1 (T1) effective 15 October 2022, 00:01 PST. Effectively, Terminal 2 (T2) shall be dedicated for all International Departures and Arrivals.

MCIA continues to experience increased domestic traffic with domestic demand now at 67% of pre-pandemic levels. In the same period of 2019, daily average at MCIA tipped at 35,000 passengers for domestic and international. International traffic continues to take increased traffic from Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. In the next months, MCIA is also expecting resumption of flights from Hong Kong and China.

MCIA remains committed in ensuring smooth airport experience for its passengers and stakeholders. Thank you for your usual cooperation and understanding.

International travelers arriving in NAIA Terminal 1 and bringing in goods, including currencies in excess of PHP50,000.00* and/or USD10,000.00, in their baggage can now declare conveniently through the I-Declare System.

*subject to prior authorization from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and may be allowed only for the following purposes: (a) testing/calibration/ configuration of money counting/sorting machines; (b) numismatics (collection of currency); and (c) currency awareness.

TRAVEL ADVISORY REMINDER TO PASSENGERS IN RELATION TO ROAD CLOSURES IN MANILA

To our Valued Passengers:

We encourage you to allot extra time for your travel to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in view of current road closures in Manila as part of security preparations for the June 30 Presidential Inauguration activities.

Please expect high volume of vehicles passing by detour areas. We wish to remind you to leave your homes early to avoid missing your flight.

The following roads will remain closed until 11PM of June 30:

- Padre Burgos Avenue
- Finance Road
- Maria Orosa St. from TM Kalaw to Padre Burgos General Luna St. from Padre Burgos-Muralla St.

The following will also be closed to traffic on June 30 from 4AM to 11PM:

- Ayala Boulevard
- Victoria Street from Taft Avenue to Muralla Street

Roads near Malacañang and the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City will also be closed.
