The Voices on Wings (VOW) Men's Choir was formed in 1997 by a group of individuals with a shared passion for singing. As an all-male choir, the group was established primarily to enhance the solemnity of Catholic masses, particularly on Sundays.🎶

Known for their harmonious blend and devotion to their ministry, the choir is composed of talented singers and instrumentalists:

Under the meticulous training and supervision of the esteemed Monsignor Rudy Villanueva, the St. Therese Choir honed its craft, blending rich vocal harmonies with a profound sense of spirituality. Louise Christine Remata Villanueva (affectionately known as “Wowee”) is a powerhouse in the world of music and performing arts. As a Vocal Coach and Studio Director of Jay Cyrus Creative Studios, and the Vice President & Marketing Director of CHADAA Music & Dreams, she channels her passion for music into nurturing talent and elevating artistic standards in Negros Oriental.

A gifted singer-songwriter, Wowee is the voice behind the Negros Oriental Tourism Jingle and numerous projects for the Philippine Dental Association, showcasing her talent for crafting inspiring melodies. She also composed and performed the beloved ABC Learning Center Hymn, cementing her legacy in education through music.

With a degree in Speech & Theatre Arts from Silliman University, Wowee brings theatrical depth to her performances. She is an ABS-CBN Pinoy Dream Academy Finalist, a testament to her vocal prowess and stage presence. Known as the Voice of Negros Oriental, her artistry is both celebrated and cherished in the region.

Beyond her professional achievements, Wowee is a devoted Worship Leader at Calvary Chapel Dumaguete, where she uses her gifts to glorify Jesus Christ. A loving wife to Jay Cyrus Villanueva, a renowned saxophonist, and a proud mother of three children—Troy, Simone, and Noah—Wowee balances her roles as an artist, leader, mother and servant of Christ with grace and purpose.

John De C. Lumagod—is a versatile drummer, accomplished music educator, and musical director from Dumaguete City, Philippines. A graduate of Silliman University, he holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (2012) and a Master’s Degree in Instrumental Conducting (2024). Currently, John is a full-time faculty member at Silliman University’s College of Performing and Visual Arts.

John’s career spans a broad range of musical experiences, including serving as a session musician and recording artist, performing with the Silliman University Big Band, Concert Band, and local ensembles like Coolrevive and the jazz group Hayahay Project. He has also collaborated with esteemed ensembles, such as the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra under Gerard Salonga. His notable achievements include releasing an album with HNO2 under Alchemy Productions and working as the musical director for international jazz artist Jojo Van Oeveren.

As an educator, John is passionate about nurturing young talent. He has completed Modules 1 and 2 of the Michael Alba Drum Program (now Alba International Music Academy) and led drum masterclasses as the head teacher for MADP Kids and Teens (Dumaguete Satellite). He is also the long-time musical director of *Silliman Idol* and a featured artist at Silliman University Drummer’s Day.

John’s dedication to music and education continues to inspire his students and audiences, cementing his role as a prominent figure in the local and national music scene.

Jay Cyrus V. Villanueva— is a distinguished musician, entrepreneur, and jazz advocate from Dumaguete City, Philippines. A 2006 graduate of Silliman University with a Bachelor of Music degree (major in Piano, minor in Saxophone), Jay has become a trailblazer in the fields of music performance, education, and innovation.

Jay is the President of CHADAA Music & Dreams, the Founder and CEO of Jay Cyrus Creative Studios, and the CEO of Weissenberg Southeast Asia, where he also serves as a professional saxophone artist and endorser. Additionally, he operates as a contractor at Meshtech Konstruk.

His achievements include performing and exhibiting at prestigious international events such as the NAMM Show (California, USA), the Asia Pacific Saxophone Association (APSA) Conference (Bangkok, Thailand), and Music Gear Indonesia. In 2019, he was a featured artist for Weissenberg in Seoul, South Korea, and appeared in KOREA SAMICK Magazine (Vol. 38). He also completed an intensive Saxophone Construction & Maintenance Workshop at the Weissenberg Factory in Taichung, Taiwan.

Jay’s passion for music extends beyond performance; he served as Band Director at Foundation University (2010–2018) and is a staunch advocate for jazz in Negros Oriental. His dedication to excellence has earned him a reputation as a skilled performer, educator, and visionary in the music industry.

Michael Highsand—is an international multi- instrumental musician born in the Netherlands. He studied jazz piano at the conservatory in Hilversum but learned more from experience in the wild. Learning blues and funk by playing with Chicago Artists Ronald and Diamond Abrams, solidifying his chops living and playing in New York and sharing stages with many different bands in the Netherlands during his years there, including jam sessions with artists like Candy Dulfer and George Benson. Nowadays he is a common player on the Dumaguete music scene also appearing with his own soulful jazz fusion band Eye Speak.
