A two-day training session for Credit Surety Fund (CSF) Cooperatives in Region 12 was successfully conducted on September 30, 2024 to October 1, 2024, by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), in partnership with the Local Government Unit of General Santos City through the City Economic Management and Cooperative Development Office (CEMCDO).

The training aimed to strengthen the operational effectiveness of CSF Cooperatives within the region.

The event was attended by representatives from the General Santos City CSF Cooperative, South Cotabato CSF Cooperative, and Sarangani CSF Cooperative. This initiative marks a significant step towards fostering collaboration and enhancing the overall efficiency of CSF operations in Region 12.

JULY 6, 2024 | The City Cooperative Development Council, led by its Chairperson, Mr. Leonilo S. Escalada, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of General Santos City through the City Economic Management & Cooperative Development Office headed by Dr. Leonard V. Flores, organized the Koop KAAKBAY Program to commemorate International Cooperative Day and as a prelude to the upcoming Cooperative Month Celebration in October.

The Koop KAAKBAY (Kooperatiba Kaisa sa mga Adhikain, Alay-Ayuda, Kaalaman at Bayanihan) outreach program represents a significant initiative aimed at fostering social responsibility and community development. It reflects the collective efforts of various primary cooperatives in the city dedicated to advancing the welfare of our community.

The event received strong support from the local government, led by City Mayor, Honorable Lorelie Geronimo-Pacquiao. Also in attendance were ABC President, Honorable Bobby Pacquiao, SP Committee Chairperson on Cooperatives, Atty. Dominador S. Lagare, Jr., Executive Assistant for Cooperatives, Mr. Jake Reyes, CEMCDO Assistant Department Head, Mr. Jose Kevin Z. Sienes, CDA XII Representative, Mr. Jhomar Baybayon, Barangay Captain Abdulrahim Paidumama, and other Barangay Officials from Barangay San Jose.

Approximately 277 households and 245 students benefited from this community outreach activity.

Truly, the spirit of cooperativism thrives in our city!

Congratulations, LADOTRANSCO! 👏🏻

As part of GenSan’s implementation of the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP), a new set of electric Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) has arrived to serve the daily commuters of the city.

The Lagao Drivers Operators Transport Cooperative (LADOTRANSCO), one of the pioneers advocating for the PUVMP, received these PUVs. These vehicles are equipped with modern features to enhance passenger comfort and safety.

LADOTRANSCO has been a key player in the shift towards electric public utility vehicles. Other transport groups in the city are also following the PUVMP.

Initiated by the Philippine government, the PUVMP aims to modernize public transportation by introducing safer, more efficient, and environmentally friendly vehicles.

GenSan was one of the first cities to consolidate and implement the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program in 2018, becoming a pioneering example of modernized urban transportation in the Philippines.

Grab Philippines in partnership with the Local Government Unit of General Santos City (LGU- Gensan) through CEMCDO- Cooperative Division, under the leadership of Honorable Lorelie G. Pacquiao, is continuing to accommodate taxi drivers who are interested to take part in the GrabTaxi Project here in General Santos City.

On July 6, 2024 (Tuesday), new set of drivers were assisted at the City Economic Management and Cooperative Development Office (CEMCDO), Investment Action Building, where Grab representatives welcomed Twenty-Five (25) new driver-partners from taxi association and cooperative, and provided them with a series of comprehensive orientations.

During their registration, online orientation programs covered various aspects of using the Grab app, customer service excellence, safety protocols, and navigating the city.
