𝗖𝗖𝗦 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝗮 𝗕𝘆𝘁𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝘀 𝗖𝗘𝗕𝗔 𝗸𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗲-𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀

The College of Computer Studies (CCS) Beta Byte Wolves spelled drought for the College of Economics, Business, and Accountancy (CEBA) Aurelion Griffins, as the women's team dismissed a 4-3 late scare in the second half, while the men’s team delivered a 5-1 defensive masterclass during the opening matches of the PALAKASAN 2025 futsal pre-games on Monday, March 10, at the IDS Multipurpose Hall (MPH).

Living up to their lofty billing as the defending champions, the Lady Wolves rendered CEBA scoreless in the first half as defensive maneuvers paved the way for a 4-0 cushion down the stretch.

The Lady Griffins unraveled their hail mary play to inch closer in the second half as they chiseled away at the deficit to a 3-4 clincher, but fell short of an equalizer at crunch time that nailed a triumph for Beta Byte.

Meanwhile, the men’s bracket saw several cusps as both teams fired back-to-back blanks amidst stalwart defensive plays, but the CCS men’s team found a breakthrough near the end of the first half to hoist a 1-0 lead.

The Wolves were still within striking distance of Aurelion as they closed in on a 2-1 trail, but were immediately silenced by a steal on the ensuing play that pushed the advantage to 2 at 3-1 in favor of CCS.

Beta Byte buried another two goals at the final salvo to seal the deal against the struggling Griffins with a 5-1 landslide, securing back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

With the crowd howling in full force, the CCS futsal team is off to a spotless start in their bid for a semis spot as the pre-games continue tomorrow, March 11.
