JFFCC | Just In. Another batch of "COMPETENT" scholars pass the assessment for "ANIMAL PRODUCTION (RUMINANTS) NC II" today. The assessment was conducted at LNNAIS, Bualan, Tubod Lanao del Norte. 10/10 of our scholars aced the assessment with a 100% passing rate. Congratulations to everyone for a job well done. Ang labing komon nga mga peste sa insekto sa humay naglakip sa:

1. Brown Planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens): Nailhan sa pagpakaon sa mga tanom nga humay ug pagpasa sa mga sakit sa tanom.

2. Ang mga bugon sa bugas (Leptocorisa acuta) mas gusto nga pakan-on kung bata pa ang host nga tanum, sa panahon nga ang mga starch sulod sa mga lugas wala pa hingpit nga naporma.
mga crepuscular, aktibo sa sayong buntag ug hapon.

3. Armyworm (Spodoptera spp.): Mokaon sa mga dahon ug makapahinabog dakong kadaot.

4. Green Leafhopper (Nephotettix spp.): Makadala ug sakit sa tanom ug makapahinabog direktang kadaot sa mga tanom nga humay.

5. Rice Stem Borer (Scirpophaga incertulas): Ang ulod nangaon sa mga punoan sa humay, nga miresulta sa pagkahuyang sa tanum.

6. Rice black bug" kasagarang nagtumong sa black rice bug (Scotinophara coarctata). Mokaon kini sa duga sa mga tanom nga humay, hinungdan sa kadaot nga mahimong mosangpot sa pagkunhod sa abot ug kalidad. Ang black rice bug ilabi na nga problemado sa mga rehiyon diin ang bugas humay. usa ka mayor nga tanum, tungod kay ang pagpakaon niini mahimong mosangpot sa pagpalambo sa puti o pagkadiskolor nga mga lugas ug makaapekto sa kinatibuk-ang panglawas sa tanum.

JIKA Farms and Fields Cafe Co. supplied "RHODOPSEUDOMONAS PALUSTRIS" to the Agriculture Students from Tubod College.

Rhodopseudomonas palustris (R. palustris) is a purple non-sulfur bacterium that has many benefits, including:
Plant growth
R. palustris can promote plant growth by increasing nitrogen fixation, which improves soil fertility and crop yield. It can also increase the efficiency of synthetic nitrogen fertilizer use.
Bioremediation
R. palustris can biodegrade and bioremediate heavy metals and other contaminants in wastewater.
Carbon fixation
R. palustris can fix carbon dioxide and convert it into valuable chemicals.
Waste valorization
R. palustris can break down a variety of carbon and nitrogen sources, including short-chain organic acids and crude glycerol from industrial and agricultural wastewater.
Biotechnology chassis
R. palustris can be used as a chassis for producing fuels, electricity, bioplastics, and other valuable chemicals.
Additive
R. palustris can be used as an additive in agriculture, aquaculture, and livestock breeding.
R. palustris is also resistant to abiotic stresses and can mitigate greenhouse gas emissions.

Just In | JIKA Farms and Fields Cafe Co. received an award from ATI RTC X as “Breakthrough Award” for having successfully achieved the RCEF-RESP trenta sais challenge and have shown significant process and advancement in their farming practices, yield and farm income.

The award was received by Mr. Jemar S. Fernandez the Farm Trainer today, November 28, 2024 during the GANTIMPALAY sa ATI 2024 at Harborlights Hotel, Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City.

Ang Brown Planthopper (BPH), o 𝘕𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘭𝘶𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘴, ay isang peste na kilala sa pagsira ng palay. Sinisipsip nito ang sap ng halaman, na nagiging sanhi ng pagbagsak ng palay dahil sa tinatawag na “hopperburn,” o pagkatuyo at pagkamatay ng halaman.

Ang Ladybird Beetles o “pagong-pagongan” ay likas na kaibigan ng mga pananim dahil natural silang predator ng Brown Planthopper. Madalas silang nakikita sa ibabaw ng mga namumulaklak na palay at naginginain sa mga pollen ngunit hindi nakakasira ng bulaklak. Ang mga adult at larvae ng Ladybird Beetles ay kumakain ng mga inakay at adult na planthoppers, leafhoppers at itlog ng ibang mga peste. Dahil dito, pwedeng bawasan ang pag gamit ng kemikal na pestisidyo, kaya’t napapanatili ang kalusugan ng palay at ng ekosistema sa palayan.
