The UPLB Housing Office (UHO) team, including staff from the Obdulia F. Sison Hall (OFSH) and Staff Housing, participated in a two-day training conducted by the UPLB Human Resource Development Office (HRDO) last 10-11 December 2024 at the Obdulia F. Sison Hall Conference Room.

The training, titled “The Essentials of Hospitality Operations”, provided comprehensive discussions and practical exercises designed to enhance and strengthen the skills needed for effective hospitality management.

Day 1 featured sessions on effective communication and best practices in housekeeping, focusing on delivering professional and engaging service to clients. Day 2 offered hands-on exercises in housekeeping and food service, applying the principles they learned in real-world scenarios.

By prioritizing continuous learning and service excellence, UHO and OFSH reaffirm its commitment to providing outstanding hospitality and housing services to its guests and residents.

𝗨𝗣 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗢 𝗕𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗛𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗦 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗧 𝗨𝗣𝗟𝗕 𝗢𝗕𝗗𝗨𝗟𝗜𝗔 𝗙. 𝗦𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗟

The UPLB Obdulia F. Sison (OFSH) warmly welcomed the members of the Office of Extension and Community Service - UP Mindanao during the benchmarking activity on 25 November 2024 held at the OFSH Conference Room.

The activity aimed to foster collaboration and share best practices to support UP Mindanao’s efforts to establish a dedicated center for continuing education and training. Led by Asst. Prof. Minerva C. Rosel, OECS Director, the UP Mindanao team sought to learn from UPLB’s expertise in managing training and accommodations facilities, particularly in key areas of organizational management, staffing, marketing strategies, and infrastructure development.

OFSH Dorm Manager Melvin L. Cordez gave a comprehensive presentation of the OFSH organizational structure, facilities, and management practices, emphasizing the continuous efforts to enhance OFSH’s operational efficiency. A guided tour of the OFSH accommodations and training facilities followed as part of the benchmarking activity, allowing the UP Mindanao delegates to witness actual operations and services at the hostel.

This benchmarking activity highlights the shared commitment of UPLB and UP Mindanao to fostering knowledge exchange within the UP System. Through this collaboration, both constituent units reaffirm their dedication to providing better services, not only to their respective stakeholders but also to the broader community.
