Eight students across Makati will be featured in several performances tomorrow, November 29, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM and 2:00 to 4:00 PM, at Makati High School, for CCP Discover Opera 2023's culminating event.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

CCP Discover Opera! is a program of the
Cultural Center of the Philippines under the CCP Artist Training Division with the help of resource persons led by Ms. Karla Gutierrez, the Artistic Director of the Philippine Opera Company.

Designed to introduce students to the world of opera in an enjoyable manner, the program aims to captivate young audiences and develop an appreciation for opera, its history, and its artistry.

Participants attended the sessions online as they received basic vocal training in classical performance.

“ANG DALAGANG PILIPINA”

Ang dalagang Pilipina ay isang mahalagang bahagi ng kultura ng Pilipinas. Ito ay tumutukoy sa isang ideal na imahe ng isang babaeng Pilipina na may mga katangian ng kababaang-loob, kagandahan, at pagiging maalalahanin sa pamilya. Karaniwang inilalarawan ang dalagang Pilipina bilang masunuring anak, mapagmahal na kapatid, at maaalalang kasintahan.

May mga tradisyunal na katangian na karaniwang iniuugnay sa dalagang Pilipina, gaya ng pagiging mahinhin, malambing, at marunong magluto. Ito'y nagmumula sa mga kaugalian at pagpapahalaga ng mga Pilipino sa pamilya at komunidad.

Subalit mahalaga ring tandaan na ang konsepto ng dalagang Pilipina ay nagbabago at nag-e-evolve ayon sa mga pagbabago sa lipunan at kultura. Sa kasalukuyan, maraming kababaihan ang naghahangad ng mas malawakang papel sa lipunan, kasama na ang pagtahak sa mga karera at pagiging malaya sa mga personal na desisyon.
