Flights to Cebu
While Cebu lures tourists with the promise of the perfect island getaway, at the center of it all is a booming metropolis complete with a highly developed urban landscape.
A long and narrow island in Central Visayas (Region VII), Cebu is where the past and the future merge. Its thriving tourism industry β as evidenced by several daily flights to Cebu β banks on the islandβs majestic coves, beautiful beaches, friendly locals and rich history. But its capital city, nicknamed fondly as the Queen City of the South, is a regional powerhouse that helps charge the national economyβs growth.
The newly upgraded MactanβCebu International Airport serves flights to and from Cebu. This airport is located in Mactan Islandβs Lapu-Lapu City, about 15km east of the Cebu capital.
Linked to Metro Cebu by two bridges, the busy island of Mactan is a coral island with its share of great beaches and diving spots, and a host of accommodations to match. Many Mactan visitors also include island-hopping in the Bohol Strait in their itinerary.
Keeping the provinceβs growth engine humming is Cebu City, a major center for business outsourcing such as call centers. Like many Asian cities, itβs pulsing with energy and activity, with a vibrant nightlife, shopping malls and gastronomic spots. But all this progress also means more cars on the roads, and while there are plans to build a Bus Rapid Transit system to help decongest the city, you should prepare yourself for a bit of traffic.

Try out the Cebuanosβ famous lechon! Revered for its crispy skin and flavorful meat that comes in classic and spicy variants, lechon is sold in plenty of shops in Cebu β some places even pack it up for you to take on the plane.
Cebu is home to a number of attractions for Catholic pilgrims like the Basilica Minore del Santo NiΓ±o and Magellanβs Cross.
Travel outside the city and head to the coastal town of Oslob, which is a hotspot for spotting whale sharks, known
