We are recruiting for a highly engaged and experienced Senior Network Engineer who will focus on the provision, support and management of Cambridge University Press and Assessment's network infrastructure. What will you do in this role? Working under the supervision of the Manila Networks Team Lead, you will:
Provide technical support by creating of Daily Network Report; and in fulfilling, resolving, escalating and managing of BaU service requests, incidents, problems and spanning from:
Firewall rules management; creation, amendment, and deletion.
Application Load Balancer configuration requirements.
Creation, troubleshooting and management of VPNs,
Propose Proof of Concepts; raise, review, and implement network Changes.
Data Center routing and switching.
Identity and Access Control, and Zero Trust Network Segmentation.
Intrusion Prevention/Detection System.
DDoS Mitigation.
Internet, MPLS and Out of Band Connectivity.
International Office's Firewall, LAN, WLAN, network connectivity, and cloud telephony support.
Head Office and Satellite Offices Firewalls, LAN, WLAN, network connectivity support.
Network Monitoring and Management Tools; Network Automation.
Join-up independent network infrastructure/s and pursue Life Cycle Management.
Review, improve, automate where possible, Network Documentation, Procedures, and Business Processes.
Option to join the On-Call ROTA.
Leading and participating in projects to implement new and emerging technologies.
Maintaining and upgrading Core Data Centre infrastructure, UK Sites and International Offices.
Gaining experience in the latest on-premises and public cloud technologies in a large scale environment.
Provide mentoring and support to network colleagues as well as participate in trainings to further your skills sets and career development.
Qualification
What makes you the ideal candidate for this position?
You will be a confident communicator who is comfortable operating in a range of business and technical environments. You will be happy challenging assumptions and finding creative solutions to problems.
You will have a background in supporting large scale datacenter and campus networks and be able to demonstrate experience equating to CCNP level.
You will have a primary skill set in Cisco networking and security, Cisco wireless, Checkpoint firewalls and F5 load balancers. Awareness and experience in cloud, virtualization, storage, Windows and Linux would also be beneficial.
You will be able to organize your time well, plan your work and deliver to a consistently high standard. A working knowledge of ITIL principles is desirable.
Technical certifications for CISCO, CheckPoint, F5, AWS, Azure, VMWare, Windows, Linux, ITIL, ISO 270001, Agile, Six Sigma and alike will be a “PLUS”, but hands-on experience in the technologies and the potential to adopt and grow is considered.
