Being creative has always been the driving force of my life. I have enjoyed the feeling of creating something from scratch and letting my imagination run wild. To create with the possibility of using nature and specific flowers ignites my passion and drive to continue. Showing its beauty in all its simplicity and honesty. Flowers and I are one, I cannot imagine life without flowers. Flowers have a
lways taken an important place in my life, and today one can even say they have become my life. To have one's passion and main interest as a full-time job is a privilege. My driving force in my life and career is the sheer fun and happiness I find the connection between people and flowers to be the most interesting aspect of this profession. I all have an emotional relationship with flowers and with nature itself. Flowers are emotions! Being privileged as I work with flowers every day, I get to interpret and convey those feelings in my work. This I find the most intriguing part of my job as a florist, the connection between flowers and people. Like translating one person’s feelings for another in flowers, so I become the emotional link between the two. Flowers say so much more than you can put down in words, and sometimes more than you dare to say. Life is getting more and more artificial, but today we can already see a reaction against this. The need for honesty not only between people but also in materials has created a movement that is only at its beginning. The more our cities grow the more the dream of nature and flowers will come to people. As a Floral Designer as my profession or more correctly as a handicraft designer in terms of flowers, in most aspects, something honest. I keep honest handicraft traditions alive. This is very important because handmade products will always be appreciated. I work with honest, natural materials, this during a time of growing environmental awareness. My driving force as a person and as a florist is my curiosity. My curiosity about life, people, emotions, and of course, flowers. To be able to assume new challenges every day, in fulfilling my customers’ needs, in finding new ways to work, and see new possibilities in the everyday material I work with. For me, the challenge is not to find the most beautiful and rare flowers but to find new ways to use the ordinary ones and show their beauty. A beauty that passes many people by if not presented in a special way. This is oftentimes achieved by working with the flowers or colors that you like the least, to challenge your own prejudices and creativity. Not to see limits and old traditions as obstacles; on the contrary, to see them as possibilities and inspiration for new ideas. As a Floral Designer, I strive for harmony. Harmony is a subtle co-existence of contrast: light and shadow, continuity and discontinuity, soft and harsh. The balance has to be present in all aspects varying from color to form to proportion. It is a harmony that gives an extra value to floral arrangements. Floristry is an artistic and creative profession. It allows me to build a large network and participate during the years various holidays and special events. You get to assist people to express their feelings of joy and sorrow. It requires you to have a strong feeling for color, shape, and composition. As a Floral Designer, I meet many people as part of my daily job. It is important to be a good seller, to be in a good mood, and to have a pronounced sense of service. A Floral Designer may never rest, He must constantly watch trends and product news coming from. Orderliness, creativity, emotions, harmony, and social skills are the keywords for being a Floral Designer.
