Monica Polangco Enriquez or Celester Polangco Enriquez in real life was a native of Brgy. Tungkop, municipality of Minglanilla. Born on September 3, 1996 and the second child among her four siblings. A 21-year-old, vibrant, creative and independent Monica Polangco Enriquez is dubbed by her colleagues in the business industry as the "Princess of Philippines Wedding". She is among the youngest wedding organizer not only in Cebu but in the entire Philippines.
GLIMPSE OF THE PAST
Monica used to live her life simply and never dream that someday she'll create a name in the business industry. Monica, coming from a broken family did not expect that she’ll be able to have everything she has right now. From a poor lil’ boy to a successful event organizer is something she could never have imagined. At the young age of 12, Monica’s mother left her to her auntie to look for a job in Manila. But for some reason’s, she left at her auntie’s house and decided to separate a living thru renting a small bed space near her school. At the age of 14, Monic, as everyone call her, live independently. She was once a working student, studies at day time and works at night time to be able to finance and finish her High School. She used to live in a 1 day 1 eat routine with her 20 pesos budget allowance for a week. With no one to run, she oftentimes stops schooling because of her situation. Due to her situation, she decided to take an exam, PAPT or the Philippine Educational Placement Test, an exam for over age students but still in High School. Her first attempt was a failure but then she never gave up and still took the courage to take the exam for the second time. With God’s grace and guidance, she had passed the exam and take the 1st spot among the 1,500 examinee who took the PAPT test. Monic decided not to continue in college due to financial problems and decided to work after passing the exam. She left Cebu and went to manila to look for a job along with his mother and brother. For 6 months in Manila, Monic failed to find a job that fits for her as she is just a product of the PAPT TEST passer.
HER FIRST JOB
MONIC was once a Sales Agent. She once sold a Massage Machine from one barangay to another. “It was never an easy job. Kapoy gyud kaayo ug tuyok-tuyok sa mga kabalayan unya wala pa juy mopalit” – Monic “But if there is one great thing it did in my life, that is, it enhances my skills on customer service. How I deal and how passionate I am with my job”. -Monic But then, Monic decided to leave her job as a Sale Agent and look for another one that offers a higher salary.
HOW SHE LEARNED AS A WEDDING ORGANIZER
Monic was once a PERSONAL ASSISTANT to a well-known wedding coordinator in Manila. By being passionate and hardworking, she was promoted from being a personal assistant to becoming a Secretary. But her boss sees a great potential to her in dealing with clients. She was then promoted again as the Sales and Marketing officer of the Bridal Shop. Her boss challenged her to reach a quota for the sales. Then, Monic had proved to her boss, that she had manage it well. She then promoted as Marketing Executive. With so much passion and good marketing strategy, Monic were able to reach a million pesos sales in 1 month. From being the Marketing Executive, she was then promoted again to a Branch Manager and handled many branches in Manila. But, Monic leave her job in Manila and started to build her own name in the business industry. She came back to Cebu, in her hometown in Minglanilla and started her business as a Wedding Organizer.
HER INSPIRATION
From a poor lil’ boy to a renowned wedding organizer, Monic could not imagined how great is God. Looking back to her miserable past, she was able to surpass and conquer the challenges that came along. She stands firmly and bravely to face life’s trials and challenges. A firm believer that in every problem, there will be always a solution to that. She had made her family, her story, her challenges as her inspirations to succeed in life. Despite a very challenging childhood life, she never loses hope that someday she’ll reach her desires. “I could not imagine how my life is. I just strived the hardest for me to reach where I am now. I believe everyone has the ability and the capacity to change their lives. No one can change your life, but just you”, Monic. Monic, despite her fame and being in demand wedding organizer, remains to be humble, kind and generous. She organizes a non-government organization, helping less fortunate kids through her foundation. “Everyone can be successful. You just have to trust yourself, be determined to reach your goals and always think positive. Life has its ups and downs, we just have to dance with it”, Monic.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
Being one of the most in demand wedding coordinator, Monic works hard every day. She doesn’t depend too much on her staff but dwells with her own. “Ako gyud mismo ang mangunay ug meet sa clients aron personal ko nga makahibawo sa iyang gusto. Ofcourse, I trusted my team pero lahi ra man gyud kun ikaw mismo”- Monic. Customers satisfaction comes first for her. She wants her clients to be satisfied. Mao ni akong gi-ingon, BASTA MONIK, SERBISYO’NG DILI TIHIK. I want my clients to be satisfied with their payments and of course with our services. MONIC IS UNIQUE!
