As an early enthusiast in turntablism and underground culture, he learned to DJ with vinyl records and focused on scratching and beat juggling at first, mentored by his friends DJ Low and DJ Dukz, mixing Hip-Hop, Breaks as well as older types of Afro music like Funk, Disco etc. He later on discovered a love for electronic music and was offered a residency in a club located in a ski resort where he
developed his endurance, Djing 5 to 6 hours a night 5 to 6 times a week, he was able to hone his crowd reading skills, and learned about the other facets of the nightlife industry from event management, light programming and sound system to promotion and bookings etc. From your intimate back alley venue to festival stages or more recently some of Berlin’s underground clubs, Adri has had the opportunity to perform in different countries and explore much of the event/club scene between Asia and Europe. As owner and director of the nightclub "Before & After" since 2016, he has had the chance to collaborate with numerous local and foreign artists establishing strong relations with many. He is a versatile Dj and can make a crowd move, with a preference for House and Techno, he still enjoys playing old school selections of Hip Hop, Reggae/Dub, Drum & Bass and more… Groove remains a key element in his DJ or live sets, a few notable dancefloor staples from the likes of some of his favorite artists like Craig Richards, RobertHood, Minor Science, Ricardo Villalobos, Skee Mask and Simian Mobile Disco to name a few. As a music producer “Adri Malaki” has since released tracks on record labels such as Xtended Records (Miami), Miniclic (Switzerland), Asia Music (Philippines) and Hermine Records (France), tracks heavily influenced by his performances in Berlin as well as the UK electro and breakbeat scene, ranging from micro/minimal to techno with detours into more eclectic genres, his productions, like his sets are mostly rooted in groovy urban rhythms and sounds of the 90's "Golden Era". As an entrepreneur Adri has ventured into F&B, logistics, promotion, art direction, technical and decorative installations, backstage management, merchandising and more, in order to manage and improve his event production (Liberty Grounds) and nightclub (Before & After), acting as the Asian representative for Miniclic Records; Adri has become the purveyor of several music festivals and events in Europe and Asia. Furthermore is latest project is a collaborative effort for cultural development that combines sustainability, entertainment, retail, design, accommodation, catering, event consultancy and an art management/residency program.
