All Soul’s Day is 1 out 4 days in the year where I’m cruelly reminded that my Mom is not here with us physically anymore. I still have vivid memories of how my Mom prepares for this day, to visit her own Mom. We both lost our mothers at a pretty young-ish age.

I’m glad I’m able to celebrate her through flowers though. It’s one of the things I do look forward to 🤍

This year, I made sure to pick the warmest colors for her (just how she likes it). That bright pink carnation wasn’t planned. I really thought it was the normal pink hue but I think she was the one who picked this for me 🌸

Love you, Mudrabee!🐝 I miss you always 🤍

Dangwa was a battlefield the past two days and I saw everyone buying white flowers. I was a bit relieved that I didn’t plan on using any white flower for this year’s All Soul’s Day 🌸

I obviously enjoyed doing this. Super loved the colors and the shape 🫶🏻

I embarked on a big self discovery journey last year (yes, in my mid 30s lol). I’ve been discovering parts of myself that were once unfamiliar and unknown. I had to face some of my shadows in the process and it wasn’t a pleasant experience. Despite the ups and downs, it was the best thing that happened in my 30s (aside from having my kids of course 🫶🏻).

I noticed that my design style also evolved as I evolved and I’m liking where it’s going. If you’ve been with us from the start, I’m sure you’ve seen how we have transformed over the years. Thank you for staying with us through every rebrand, face lift, and transformation. And yes, this page is indeed an extension of my personal journey. 🤍 Grateful for this platform because jt also served as an outlet (more like a public journal lol) for me the past years ✨

If there’s one thing I learned from my recent class in S. Korea, it’s “less is more”. Arranging with less variety is more challenging because the focus will be more on composition and placement 🌸 This is not to say we are leaving our wildflower style. We’re still carrying the same style but an evolving one ✨

P.S. Those pink local roses are as giving as the lavender imported ones 😌

This time last week, we made a hanging installation using two flowers only.

Teacher challenged us to create something that will fill the room’s ceiling, has depth, and will look good in any angle. In all of the challenges, we were forced to think of a story.

I was so used to designing with just pegs in mind but designing with a story makes the output more soulful 🌷

For the last challenge, we were free to choose any 2 or 3 flowers and foliage. This one’s a hard one because the Libra in me had a hard time choosing flowers and leaves😅

But as always, I had to trust my intuition. I really liked the black leaf and maroon flowers so I chose something to soften the overall look as third flower—pink tulips 🌷

In the Philippines, these leaves are usually used during Lenten Season. Didn’t have any appreciation for this leaf until our class. I was surprised at how versatile and flexible these were 🙂

This was definitely a lesson on lines, flow, negative space, and minimalism 🤍

One thing I would always invest in is learning. I recently attended a two-day workshop in S. Korea under . Her work is pure art. When i saw that she opened up fall classes, I immediately reserved a slot (even without a visa) 😅

I didn’t even know that there’s still so much more you can do with flowers, fruits, and foliage. My creativity was stretched beyond my imagination ✨

“Mori Hana” means “wild flower”. This is the style that I wanted to promote when I rebranded this business last year. I was always fascinated in flowers that looked natural or an arrangement that appeared like Mother Nature personally created 🌸

August 2, 2020 was when I posted my first set of flower arrangements for sale. I still remember convincing myself not to do it but my husband encouraged me to go for it 🫶🏻 I never imagined that I will be doing this full time (not in 4 years time but maybe as a retirement activity 😅).
