Today’s bridal bouquet screams soft Spring 🌸 We seldom use Delphiniums because it’s rarely available. I’m so happy we were able to use it today ✨

The “Bahay Kubo” tablescape is a mix of Filipiniana-themed flower arrangements styled with vegetables (mostly found in the Bahay Kubo song) in between. It was a color exercise for us more than a challenge of choosing which elements to use ✨ I loved how the each flower tied with the vegetable through colors 🍆🌿🌸

Had to think of a way to tie the arch design with the Bahay Kubo tablescape. We decided to use tropical flowers to align with the very Filipino theme 🫶🏻

The selloums, anahaw, anthuriums, and lumot leaves were all giving 🌿🍃🍂

There are a lot of things on my mind lately because it’s been a year since I decided to pursue floral design full time (time does fly 🥹). As I think about my progress, I can’t help but congratulate myself for trying out new things, taking on challenges, and generally just going for it. I can’t say things got easier because I always love challenging myself but I am very happy about how far I’ve come.

Working with more elements and having the whole table as a canvas is 100x more challenging than vase arrangements. There’s an infinite number of possibilities ✨ But the goal is always to create an interesting mix and I’m trying hard not to make the elements uniform on either side.

The sitaw is so versatile!☺️ It’s a new fave 🫛

Floral Alchemy 101 Batch 6

This year’s workshop run ended on a high note. The energy of this group was so infectious. It was also fun to watch them collaborate and share their flowers with one another 🫶🏻 This venue has given me the chance to do something I’m passionate about—to teach—and at the same time, learn from my students too. 🌸
