✨ Roots of Remembrance ✨
I’ve been wanting to try something different with my flower arrangements — something that’s not just pretty, but also playful and meaningful.
Lately, I’ve been drawn to using things you don’t usually see in florals: dried leaves, twigs, even fruits and vegetables. 😁
It feels fun, but I also want to keep it elegant and timeless!
Soooo .. This is the start of my little series.
Here’s my first piece.
It’s close to my heart because it carries pieces of my family’s story.
The old ginger reminded me of my late Mama, who used to plant them in our garden.
The papua leaves came from my late lola’s (Apu Aring) plant that still grows with us today.
I added dried leaves from our garden, played around with garlic, and added in Birds of Paradise (my newest favorite — it takes me back to childhood afternoons biking sa aming munting barrio).
I mixed in gerberas and spray carnations too, simply because I love them! 💛
When our youngest, Patcholo, saw it, he called it “Revenge of Flowers with Rumi’s Hair (K-Pop Demon Hunters)” (because of the rattlesnake calathea). Kids really see things in the most magical way. 😅
This piece is special because it’s not just flowers — it’s memories, stories, and play.
Maybe this is where my floral journey is leading me… or maybe it’s just me enjoying the process.
Either way, I’m excited to see where this path goes. 🙏
At Unwrapped - Flowers, Hampers and Events , I’ve always believed flowers can do more than look pretty — they can tell stories, carry memories, and spark joy in surprising ways. 💞
Here’s to creating arrangements that make us smile, remember, and imagine!
