Grappling is physical meditation. ⁣

A lot of people say they can’t sit and meditate. Their brain won’t stop wandering. ⁣
⁣
1 of the best parts about rolling is that you can’t think anymore. ⁣
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣
It’s hard to wander in thought when you’re defending a takedown, fighting for grips or trying to stop a grown man from wrapping his hairy arm around your neck. ⁣
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣
And this physical struggle forces you to be present in the moment and clears your mind from anything else. ⁣
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣
And in that way it’s a meditation. ⁣

You may not look like a calm yogi during training. But we all know the relaxed, zen-like feeling we have after a good training session. ⁣
