EDSA People Power Revolution 37th Anniversary
On February 25, 1986, the EDSA People Power Revolution took place and revolutionized Philippine history. People from different backgrounds gathered along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), in an effort to end the dictatorship of President Ferdinand E. Marcos and to achieve true freedom and democracy. Non-violent demonstrations were also seen in different cities around the nation, indicating the unified will of the Filipinos to claim liberty.
This revolution was special in that it displayed the Filipinosโ remarkable resolve and was accomplished through peaceful means. We continue to commemorate the sacrifices of all those who stood up against the dictatorship and enabled an era of peace.
