Wanna know some fun facts about CALABARZON?

Region IV-A, sometimes referred to as CALABARZON, is a region of outstanding natural beauty. However, this region had already come a long way before it was given the name CALABARZON. When it was first established, around 1973, it was part of Region 3A, which also included the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, and Quezon.

As part of the Regionalization Scheme, provinces were reorganized in 1977. Region 3A became Region 4, and five new provinces were added—the Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Aurora, Rizal, and Romblon. And this region was only divided into two (Region IV-A and IV-B) on April 27, 2011, in accordance with Executive Order 103. Region IV-A’s name is CALABARZON.

Who wouldn’t love to know a little fact about RIZAL?

Do you love history? If you do, let me familiarize with one of the greatest historic art work in Angono, Rizal. The petroglyphs of Angono are believed to be the oldest in the Philippines and among the metamorphic and igneous carvings still in existence in Asia. They are a group of 127 figural carvings on the volcanic tuff wall of a small cave that date to the third century B.C.

Earthenware and obsidian flakes found during archaeological digs at the location indicate that the cave may have been used for the first time during the Neolithic era. The carvings that have survived represent a rare collection from this distant era in Philippine history.
