Grateful to have hosted Franchesca’s 18th birthday celebration at Subway Restobar Legazpi.

This wonderful family is the very first unknown client I’ve ever met, but there were no awkward moments during the program. I felt belonged and acquainted as if we’ve been together before. I've almost forgotten my first impromptu hosting.

It was during Nica's 18th birthday party way back in 2018. If I'm not mistaken, I got the program right when I arrived. Honestly, it wasn't smooth sailing but it's my modest beginning.

Not into sports but I can be your host!

It was during the Basketball Tournament Opening and the search for Miss SK Cup 2022 presented by the SK Council of Barangay Panal. Calling the names of the lovely muse representatives of the basketball teams was my proudest moment. Will always be proud of the girls who sport their beauty and confidence in a good way, just like me! 😉

First Talent Contest Hosted

It's my first time to host a talent competition and it was fun. I felt privileged to have witnessed up-close the amazing performances of the participants. I even met some of my former classmates and students at the venue. Back in the day, I used to join and win in a singing contest. Now I won't dare to perform or sing in front of the big audience again. I am content with being an emcee.

It's an in-person rite at last!

After two years of being hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic, we finally got the permission to hold a face-to-face ceremony for Recognition Day where I was assigned to be the emcee. We can't really be 100% prepared. No matter how much we practiced to familiarize our lines, we still dealt with unexpected moments so we had to utter extemporaneous comments.

We threw a party for our Queen 👑

I organized and hosted my mother's 60th simple birthday party 🥳 And it's all worth it as we have made her cry and laugh at the same time. I think I lost my composure that night, for the reason that we didn't expect our house to be crowded with visitors. 😅

Not just a judge but also an emcee!

I played two important roles in this significant event, as a judge in jingle-making contest where I used to join and win and also as an emcee of the whole program. Thankful for having a friend who gives me opportunities to showcase my skills. 🥰

Presented my PBB-inspired hosting! 🤩

I got the idea from their family names, Pamilya Boncodin-Borromeo and the debutant herself is a fan of Pinoy Big Brother Housemates so it wasn't that hard to conceptualize and personalize my script and the flow of the program. It was Jeneah's 18th birthday celebration. She's the younger sister of my colleague so I offered my talent as a gift. It's really good to have a friend who believes in what you can do. It was undoubtedly a blast.

Kicking at Pei Ching!

The COVID-19 pandemic really challenged our resilience and flexibility as teachers, but we managed to carry out the school year by adapting to changes in the education system. Since we adapted the Online and Modular Learning Modality, we also conducted a Virtual Graduation Ceremony where I served as one of the hosts. Obviously, it was my most comfortable hosting experience. 😌

Hosted two birthday parties in one day!

It was Joseph Ken's 7th birthday celebration in the afternoon and his sister, Justine Karylle's 18th birthday post celebration in the evening! Thankfully, I was able to pull off both the programs well even if I only had a few minutes to rest. I guess it was the most heartwarming hosting I've had as I was touched by the exchange of heartfelt messages between the family members. 🥹

I finally set foot in my hometown!

It was Ara's 18th birthday. And we all know that a girl's official coming into legal age is grandly celebrated. They have invited me to host that special event but I suggested to have a co-host since I couldn't come early due to my work schedule. No matter how busy, I still managed to come and celebrate with them. 🥳🎂

It was my last hosting moment at SMS.

Due to the hurdles caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, I finally decided to leave my first workplace and get back to my hometown. It was during the Elocution Contest as seen on the tarpaulin in front of the stage. I was nostalgic that time because I saw myself in the participants as I used to join the same contest when I was still a student. I think it was the most formal event that I have hosted as shown in my overall looks. It's all because of my board mate who gave me a glam that day. Glad that I've got a friend who can also be a sister and a cosmetician! ☺️

It was still in Montessori.

Although I already had a few hosting experiences since college, executing a new and different event will always be challenging and nerve-wracking especially when you only had a very limited time to prepare and familiarize the sequence of the event. It was during the GSP Investiture Ceremony where I felt the urge to take hosting seriously 😅 Honestly I haven't experienced attending that kind of event during my school days. I also joined the Girl Scout Troop but we didn't have that formal introduction. At least, I've got to finally experience it even just as an emcee. ☺️

Finally got documented!

It's my first real-time job as a teacher and it was my first year in Southernside Montessori School. I started teaching in September and the Field Demo happened in December to celebrate Christmas. If I remember it right, I was informed that I will take part as an emcee a day before the event. Again, I took the challenge and showed what I've got. I think it was the most ecstatic hosting I've ever done. Maybe I was carried away by the energetic performers so I raised my energy to the highest level 😅 Meeting their expectations or leaving a good impression was the most challenging part, but I have no regrets for I have given the best of my abilities. There's always a room for improvements anyway. Still, I'm grateful for the genuine and constructive feedbacks that help me in sharpening my hosting skill. 😇

No documentation needed!

It wasn't my first hosting experience, but it was the first time that I introduced myself to our barangay as a poetic, energetic and enthusiastic host. It was during the campaign period of the candidates running for barangay official positions. I remember, I haven't had enough time to prepare because they asked me to be the emcee on that same day but I accepted the challenge and it went well. I even heard some of the crowds asking, “Sino ba yung emcee?” Maybe, they didn't expect that high energy coming from a small but terrible one like me 🤭 And most people in the neighborhood perceived me as tahimik lang sa isang tabi. I have no pictures to prove how I really seized the moment, but in my mind, it’s still saved. That night wasn't just worth-remembering, but also everlasting. 🥹
