Excited to host Arhum Ishtiaq & Azima Dhanjee, the co founders of ConnectHear.

Join us on Friday 30 April at 10:30 pm for a very interesting discussion on the initiatives and milestones achieved by this socially responsible startup ConnectHear, on the Quarantine Series

About ConnectHear:

ConnectHear is focused on providing professional sign language interpretation services through video-based and in-person mediums. Its mission is to give the Deaf individuals of Pakistan the tools they need to make communication accessible to them, allowing them to be truly independent.

Within the course of their establishment, ConnectHear has achieved many milestones. Their initiatives have sequentially opened up a gateway for the world to connect with hearing individuals and organisations involved with social advocacy and inclusion of undermined communities.

About the guests:

Azima Dhanjee

Azima Dhanjee is raised by deaf parents and Pakistani Sign Language is her mother tongue. Growing up, she was always bothered about how a simple communication was a challenge for the deaf due to language barrier. The ignorance and lack of awareness with regards to the deaf community led her to begin ConnectHear along with her two high school friends.

Azima is a Diana awards recipient and has been mentioned for her efforts in Forbes, Pioneers Post, and other publications. Her startup is the winner of P@SHA ICT Awards and has received merit position in 18th APICTA Awards.

Arhum Ishtiaq

Arhum is a student, technologist, and entrepreneur. He works as a Digital Media Consultant for American Councils for International Education and also co founded ConnectHear, a startup that is looking to create innovative mediums to facilitate friction less communication between the hearing and hearing impaired communities. Through ConnectHear, Arhum has been able to impact and improve accessibility for tens of thousands of lives across the nation by using his expertise in both technology and digital media.

Arhum is an active Machine Learning enthusiast and regularly shares his artificial intelligence creations on Youtube through his series "A.I. does A.I." He's one of the first Pakistanis to be awarded The Diana Award and is also part of 25 Under 25 High Achievers in Technology by TechJuice.

The Great Red Spot

Inspired by the largest storm in the Solar System that has been going on for hundreds of years on Jupiter - the Great Red Spot.

We believe that the community in Islamabad needs to be awaken, to be made to feel alive, to be immersed in the force of fast-paced culture of work, collaboration, inspiration and creativity. We aim to strengthen Islamabad as a community by becoming a centre of attraction and engagement for adults and children, professionals and non-working individuals, artists and corporates.

The Great Red Spot is blurred in distinction - it offers a range of activities that were once done in separate spaces. It is embracing democratisation of innovation, where workers are elevated and empowered to articulate how a space should be moulded to support their needs and ambitions.
