Can this person become a part of my family.
Ask this question in your head for any vendor or event planner you meet.
If a person is emotionally invested in your event that is the right person for bringing out the best experiences for your event.
Yes talent is imperative but so is their ability to be emotionally connected with you.
And same goes for event planners as well. I am very selective about the people I work with, over the past few weeks I have been rejecting clients because I didn’t resonate with them at all.
This is the number 1 tip I would give to any upcoming brides.

When I got a call from @eman_suleman
Honestly, I was like damn I have made it as an event planner.
I was screaming inside with joy but I acted very professional (demure and mindful).
Honestly the thing that I miss about working with her is the Haleem I had at her place.
She is an amazing person inside out and working with her was a dream come true.

I was thinking about the events that happen in Pakistani weddings.
1) Milad / Dua-e-Khair
2) Dholkis
3) Mayun
4) Qawwali Night
5) Mehendi
6) Game Night
7) Bridal Shower
8) Baraat
9) Sangeet Event
10) Walima / Reception
I think weddings are the only entertainment left in Pakistan

Does Mughal Courtyard have ceiling decor?
My father was my first client that requested that he doesn’t want any hangings from the ceiling and wanted an open and airy event.

My first Christian Wedding.
The client wanted this particular event to not look like it was done in Pakistan.
We actually had to control ourselves to ensure that we don’t go overboard with the decor.
The end result was spectacular!

This year has been tough on you mama.
We hope to take all your sadness away and fill your lap with all the happiness.
Love you mama.
I am not a fan of people cramming up at the buffet table, stage and during the Nikkah event.
It is hard to experiment with clients as they are so fixated on things they see on social media just like the Nikkah Pardah.
But I wanted to try something different for my Brother’s Nikkah.
The idea of creating the two Baranhdari on opposite sides of each other was because:
A) It was giving more space for everyone to do the ceremony at ease and not be crammed on top of each other.
B) Gave photographers and videographers space to get some good shots
C) It look magnificent and added to the decor.

It’s always a tug of war between money and creativity…
And creativity with love always wins.
Honestly this event gave me sleepless nights of tension and worry but I am glad our team was able to pull off although my family and my team were worried that I was losing my senses at this event.
This was the first time we introduced the french/victorian panel’s reception lobby, which was copied many times.
The lobby was designed by my mother and for this project for the first time we divided the areas amongst us. She was doing the reception lobby, I was in charge of the main area and my brother was in charge of the catering.
We got amazing reviews of this event and honestly for the next 3 years we couldn’t design anything new as all of our clients wanted this design.
I am glad I spent the money out of my pocket to putt it off as this event became the talk of the town.

Not a fan of Sufi Dances.
In Pakistani weddings I find Sufi dances to be a little cringe because honestly we are so bad it.
The reason why we did it was because it was a good transition between the Nikkah ceremony and our fun filled dances.
I hope to see more cultural dances at Pakistani weddings like Balochi, Sindhi or Punjabi dances.

I believe that the Event Planner, Client, and Photographer must always work closely together for a successful wedding. A pre-wedding meeting is essential to discuss shots, angles, and sequences to ensure everyone is on the same page.
I had shared the dance practice videos and decor pictures with Izzah and her team so that everyone knew what to expect. This preparation allowed the team to capture the event from the right angles.
There are no retakes when it comes to a wedding, so thorough preparation is crucial.
Izzah’s team did an excellent job at the event. She clearly understood the requirements, I picked her brains as well and she knew exactly who to send from her team.
I think if you go to a photographer you should definitely bring your ideas to the table but also give the photographer their creative freedom.
What I admire most about Izzah is her go-getter attitude—I knew I could trust her completely as I saw myself in her.
A photographer needs to be deeply involved in the wedding preparations because, by getting to know you and your family, they can capture shots that truly resonate with you. I feel she is an empathetic person so can quickly grab where your emotions and stories lie.
I am definitely looking forward to working with her again.

Unlike dress designers we event planners have nothing physical to show to our potential clients.
That’s why I always invite my clients to my events so that they can taste the food and make informed decisions.
I actually got lucky for my brother Nikkah as someone was watching us do all the work that we were doing while they came to search for a venue.
I instantly clicked with the client and invited them to my brother’s Nikkah ceremony.
They booked us right on the spot and honestly made my day.
I think in Pakistan usually people lack in customer service and care and when you give quality work, you obviously stand out.
It’s funny how there are things that we do that we don’t even know why we are doing it and the purpose behind it.
Before you jump into a debate that oh Islam doesn’t allow this tradition, I would like you to know that there is a difference between religion and culture.
After taking a masterclass from my mom I understood that this is for good luck and good fortune = Vatavaran = Good Vibes.
Celebrating tradition with Kaju Katli on exquisite Kashmiri silverware thaal. Offering these sweet delights as shagun symbolizes the sharing of joy, blessings, and prosperity on this special occasion.
I feel if you have invited someone to your events, you must entertain them.
And dances are the best way to do that.
Dance with the groomsmen can always be made into something that’s quirky and fun.
And honestly if you enjoy dancing yourself and have fun while doing so it, your energy is contagious! If you’re having fun and enjoying yourself, especially when dancing at events like weddings, the audience will feel it and join in the fun too.

I wanted to use the same stage my brother designed for a client for his own Nikkah event and it’s called the Naulakha.
Naulakha means 9 lakhs.
Naulakha Pavilion, was built in 1663 on the orders of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, for his beloved wife Arjumand Banu Begum also known as Mumtaz Mahal.
This structure was designed as his summer resting house and completed at a cost of nine lakh rupees
The Naulakha Pavilion, contains an architectural feature called the Bangla Dome and it was designed by Ustad Ahmed Lahauri, the man who designed the Taj Mahal.
Now there are two Naulakha’s one is at Lahore Fort and the other at our warehouse.
