🎤 We welcome next speaker of the IV Legal Forum EU-Eastern Partnership 2025 - Ms. Sarah Beischau!

🔹 Sarah Beischau, Maître en droit (Paris), is an international trade law expert of the leading law boutique BLOMSTEIN in Berlin, Germany. Sarah advises German and international clients on export control, sanctions, customs, foreign direct investment screening and public procurement law. She also advises in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) regulatory matters, such as the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). Sarah represents clients in front of competent authorities and courts.
🔹 Sarah studied law at the Humboldt-University of Berlin and at the University Panthéon-Assas in Paris (Master 1 with a focus on international law, especially European and international economic law). Afterwards, she worked as a research assistant at major international law firms in Berlin in the field of international trade law and public procurement law. Sarah has published and presented on different international trade topics, including investment screening and the EU Deforestation Regulation.

🎤 Our next speaker is Ph.D. Paweł Kowalski, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Law, SWPS University.

🔹 Mr. Kowalski is an active legal counsel who has been combining law with new technologies for years, particularly focusing on artificial intelligence (AI). His work centers on conducting training sessions and workshops on the practical application of AI tools in legal practice and knowledge management across various sectors and institutions. His training sessions are addressed not only to professionals but also to students and individuals who wish to enhance their knowledge about AI and law, provide solutions to improve work efficiency through AI integration, and include tools such as ChatGPT in legal work.

🔹 Academically, Paweł Kowalski specializes in medical law, international law, and the analysis of legal technologies. Notable works include his chapter in the monograph Medical Confidentiality and Liability for its Breach (2021), the article "Correction of Errors in Legal Acts of the European Union" (2024), and a chapter on the COVID-19 pandemic in Pandemic COVID-19 and Citizen Rights and Freedoms (2020). Additionally, he explores the role of emerging technologies in law, such as blockchain, as discussed in his work on blockchain technology’s impact on European society.
