It destroyed my creativity.

Back then when the lack of attention destroyed my creativity.
Spoiler. First of all it wasn't only poor attention.
It was also because of myself.
It was because of how I dealt with certain things.
It was how my view as an artist had shifted away from the artistically and important things too superficial and unimportant things.
I'd simply lost my intuitive feeling to realise that I was looking in the wrong direction.

But why?

There were two phases.
The first phase was the Electro period (1996-2003)
with works like "Dont Stop The Beat" "Simulationszeitalter", "Hacker", "Electro Pop".
And the second phase, the Datapunk period (2003-2007) with works like "Back Home", "Father", "When The Sun goes Down" plus numerous collaborations with other artists and labels.

Looking back I think that I managed the Electro phase quite well but the Datapunk period got me into some big trouble because I'd started building a small company with staff and that resulted in a big reduction of my studio time.

First I had no lack of creativity but over time not focusing on research for new sounds and ideas and only producing much music within a very short time became an issue.
And that got me into a vicious cycle.
At daytime I'd tried to manage a company and in the evening I worked on my music or produced with other artists and on the weekends I was on tour.

And then suddenly I'd run out of ideas because I'd made no efforts for new ones.
That's the worst moment when you realise that you are empty.
At the time I did not understand what kind of problem I had.
From todays perspective unbelievable.

And then you're start drowning in a psychological crisis. A spiral.
I'd arrived at a point where I wasn't able to create a simple Bassdrum.

Before that crisis I'd made all my music intuitive but that was over.
It felt like I had to learn every little step in music production again.
And I had to built new inner power.

It took me 4 years (2008-2012) to recover my creativity and another 4 years (2013-2016) to be allowed to fully dive back into the holy creative ocean.

You can be sure that I'll protect my creativity forever. ♡
