8 Tips from a Photographer’s perspective to help a couple get stunning Wedding Ceremony photos:

1. Choose the Right Location & Lighting

If possible, schedule your ceremony one hour before the golden hour (just before sunset) for soft, flattering light.

If indoors, ensure there’s plenty of natural light or well-placed artificial lighting.

2. Keep the Aisle Clear

Ask guests to avoid stepping into the aisle with phones or cameras. An “unplugged ceremony” ensures we get clean, distraction-free shots.

3. Discuss the Key Shots with us as Photographers

Moments like the first look (if you’re doing one), walking down the aisle, exchanging vows, the first kiss, and the recessional should be planned so we are in the best position.

4. Walk Slowly Down the Aisle

Give the photographer time to capture multiple shots and angles. Plus, it helps you stay present in the moment.

5. Hold Hands & Stay Close

Small, natural gestures like holding hands, looking at each other, or a little squeeze add emotion and intimacy to the photos.

6. Face Each Other

Instead of standing straight toward the officiant, slightly angle toward each other for more intimate, engaging shots.

7. Take Your Time with the First Kiss

Hold it for a few extra seconds or even go for a double kiss to ensure we get the perfect shot!

8. Celebrate the Recessional

Smile, laugh, maybe even throw your hands in the air, this is one of the most joyful moments of the ceremony, and it makes for incredible photos.
