PRS Festival Reschedules Event Amid LYTE Ticketing Platform Collapse

Paterson, NJ – October 3, 2024 – The PRS Festival, a leading celebration of hip hop culture, has made the difficult decision to reschedule its 11th anniversary event. This change is due to the unforeseen collapse of our ticketing platform, LYTE, which recently declared bankruptcy. The disruption caused by LYTE's collapse has impacted festivals and concerts across the country, and our event has been similarly affected, leading to challenges involving legal matters, production delays, operational expenses, and new liabilities. While these factors are beyond our control, we are actively addressing them to ensure the best possible experience for our community and supporters.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our devoted community, partners, and ticket holders for their understanding and unwavering support during this difficult time. Your passion for hip hop culture fuels our commitment, and we are working tirelessly to overcome these obstacles while staying true to our mission of celebrating hip hop’s rich heritage.

This year has been challenging for the hip hop community as a whole. From the unfair treatment of B-Boys and B-Girls at the Olympics to the misrepresentation of hip hop values in certain Rap headlines, we find ourselves in a time where the culture is facing significant hurdles. The LYTE platform's collapse adds to these challenges, but we remain dedicated to ensuring the PRS Festival continues to honor the legacy of hip hop and its vibrant culture.

Important Ticketing Information:

We understand the concerns regarding ticketing, and we are pleased to announce that your LYTE tickets WILL BE HONORED for the rescheduled PRS Festival in 2025. To ensure a seamless experience, we have outlined the following options for ticket holders:

1. Redeem Your LYTE Ticket for a 2025 Season Pass
Ticket holders may redeem their LYTE tickets for a free season pass to attend future PRS Festival events in 2025.

2. Refunds:
If you prefer to receive a refund, please take the following steps:

Contact Your Credit Card Company: Initiate a dispute for the charge on your credit card. Explain the Situation: Inform your credit card company that LYTE is no longer accessible and request a refund for your PRS Festival tickets.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and deeply appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these unprecedented circumstances.

Community Impact and Continued Support

The PRS Festival’s commitment to the community remains strong. Through partnerships with The Elisha Project, Her Networks Inc., Hinchliffe Stadium, SiriusXM, Hispanic Heritage, All Hip Hop, and Monster Energy, we recently distributed over $110,000 worth of essential goods, including toiletries and home products, to underserved families in Paterson, New Jersey.

In continuing this spirit of giving, we are excited to announce a new initiative to further support our community: the donation of 50 FREE mountain bikes to young adults in need. This initiative will be launched in the coming weeks, reinforcing our dedication to uplifting the next generation.

As we face these unforeseen challenges, we remain resolute in our mission to honor and uplift hip hop culture. We sincerely thank our supporters for standing by us as we work to overcome these obstacles and move forward. Adam Fujita aka AdamFu is a Product Designer and Artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. He holds an MFA in Product Design from the Products of Design department at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

He has been making artwork with spray paint since his youth in San Francisco, starting actively writing graffiti in 1992. Transitioning to design by accident after many years in NYC Adam has merged the concepts of product design and public art through the medium of letter based murals and illustrations to send signals and to support disenfranchised communities.

Adam’s blinding neon style work has been an exploration of protest and activism pushing social justice to the forefront of his themed work all the while bringing a nostalgic and whimsical vibe with it. He has addressed gender issues, police brutality, women’s equality, nativism and more with his neon style street art, all over the world.

Digging deeper into the commercial side, Adam has recently partnered with brands like Spotify, Complex, TuneCore, Monster Energy, Champion, Shake Shack, Brooklyn NETS, and Cartier to name a few.
As well as being a full time designer, father and artist Adam is the host and creator of the My Life In Letters podcast where he speaks with prominent graffiti artists and typographers from around the globe about their experiences within the letter community.
