Cocktail hour at a wedding is seriously the unsung hero of the event. It’s like the warm-up act before the main event.

It’s not just about the drinks (though let’s be honest, that’s a perk) — it’s the perfect buffer between the ceremony and reception, letting guests mingle, catch up, and get in the party mood.

For the couple, though, cocktail hour can be tricky.

You might want to join in on the fun, but you’re often pulled into couples portraits, sunset pictures and unique shots. It’s really the only moment to enjoy a private moment and actually have a bite to eat.

And while it’s important to celebrate with your guests, there’s a lot going on behind the scenes. If you’re both present during cocktail hour, you risk missing moments of your own party — like the hilarious group photos or those first sips of champagne.
