THIS IS THE END BEAUTIFUL FRIEND ❤️

Yes friends, Coração Shala is coming to an end as we know it! After two years in the heart of Aljezur we are closing the doors of our location at the end of September.

Why, you might ask? Simply said, We are ready for new adventures.
Knowing that we are unlimited AND limited as well, we have to close this door so that we can open others - I like this chapter of Vedantic Meditation by David Frawley to remember that:

"Life presents us with both the limited and the unlimited. On one hand, there is no limit to what we can see or experience. On the other hand, there is a definite limit to what we can do and the time that we have to live. If we examine any object in nature we will discover that there is no end to the details of its appearance. Examine the endless detail on a rock, the bark of a tree, the many insects, the pattern of the dew or the movement of the clouds. The unlimited is everywhere. Yet we also find specific limits to things. Each thing has restrictions as to its size and duration. The world presents us with both the limited and the unlimited."

These two years represent an eventful period of time, and in contentment I remember about - many yogis on the yoga mat, people who came and sat together with no other purpose than closing eyes and meditating (remember our free meditation morning sessions?), chanting and breathing together.
.. Women circles, Dancing Classes, Singing Circles, Family Constellations, Breathwork sessions, and other wonderful gatherings. Many patients and customers who came to our wonderful therapists hands. Co-creations, collaborations...

CORAÇÃO SHALA REALY GAVE SPACE TO MAN MADE MAGIK ✨ Thank you, GRATIDÃO to all of you!

With this said, we are entering a transformation zone - please read hibernation mode!

"When I was in India, I had a vision of a straight and narrow path going up a mountain, and at the top was an emancipated yogi in a cave. He was a man, but he was also me. I was on that stereotypically male path. Then, one early morning at a temple in Orissa [an eastern Indian state on the Bay of Bengal], I saw the sun appearing over the ocean horizon, lighting up figures carved from stone on the temple walls, beautiful feminine deities. My inner voice spoke loudly: They are women, but they are yoginis. I can be a woman and a yogi."

Gurupurnima is an important day in Hindu calendar. The full moon of Summer celebrates light over darkness and offers deep respect to spiritual and academic gurus.

On the picture, Angela Farmer who after being a dedicated Iyengar student, followed her intuition and inner guru that guided her to a feminine approach to Yoga practice.

MEET OUR TEAM — REGINA

Hi, I’m Regina. I’m a Yoga practitioner since 1992. My yoga journey started with Sivananda Yoga, and continued with Iyengar and Ashtanga Yoga. I had many very inspiring teachers, some of them “famous”, some of them not. I studied with Gita and BKS Iyengar in Poona, India and with Pattabhi and Sharath Jois in Mysore, India.
I ran a Yoga school in São Paulo, Brazil, and taught in Goa, India for many years.
I went on with my exploration of being human and fully trained as a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.
Now I find deep resources in practising and teaching yoga free from names, honouring every modality and teacher that I encountered on my way.

Yoga for All, a somatic approach
It’s all about awareness. And how to inhabit the yoga postures, inviting every little corner of our body to open and to breathe. Shedding old patterns, freeing energy blocks, building flexibility, strength, freedom of movement.
We all have the potential to experience the most challenging postures with ease and power at the same time. We can learn how to move and embody postures in a way that is authentic and unique, honouring ourselves and all that we carry.
A space to slow down, listen, reset, invigorate.

MEET OUR TEAM —— GUI

Guima Granato is a Brazilian musician and researcher residing in Portugal.

His passion for music encompasses three interconnected activities: instrumentalist/songwriter, musicologist and music educator.

His latest works as a songwriter were the singles “Quarentenar” (2022) and “Aline” (2021). During the same period, in collaboration with the Rio de Janeiro singer Joyce Candido and the handpan player Alexandre Lora, he brought his guitar into a beautiful version of the “Oração de São Francisco.”

As a researcher, his current academic enterprise, developed at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, focuses on the relationship between the Brazilian songwriter Caetano Veloso and the poets of the Noigandres group, who were pioneers of Brazilian concrete poetry.

In 2018, Granato published the book “Das Vanguardas à Tropicália: Modernidade Artística e Música Popular” (‘From the Avant-Guards to Tropicália: Artistic Modernity and Popular Music’).

Currently, he is developing the project Nāda Journeys with his partner Catarina Marques. The work explores the relationship between music, body, and consciousness, blending yoga and live soundscapes.

Moreover, Granato can be found playing brazilian music, jazz, and other musical genres in bars, restaurants, and concert venues throughout Portugal, from Lisbon to the Algarve.

Gui makes part of our YIN YOGA & LIVE SOUNDSCAPES class that happens every Tuesday at 7 pm. (It’s today!) #
