So… I may have accidentally met the Pope at the Bad Religion concert in Lisbon last night.

I know what you’re thinking—“Carter, did you finally mosh too hard and hit your head?” But nope. There he was: white robes, holy vibes, and absolutely headbanging during “21st Century (Digital Boy).”

Turns out, even the Pope needs a little punk rock absolution now and then. We fist-bumped. I said, “Forgive me, Father, for I have moshed.” He blessed my Doc Martens and screamed, “No Control!” with the rest of us.

Lisbon, you weird, beautiful beast. I’m never leaving.
