I know it’s been a long time, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have very exciting news to share with you! 🎉
For the past few weeks I have been working on offering a special service to share my knowledge and passion with you and the Hospitality Industry. I think we can all agree that we can never have enough vegan options when we are out and about and we also want to feel confident knowing that the restaurant or any food service business and its staff is aware of our culinary requirements, right?
If it’s a menu evaluation to make existing dishes vegan by default, create a separate vegan menu, work together with the kitchen team or train service staff to confidently explain and sell to maximise profits. I would be excited to assist in making a change that everybody profits from!

We are taking orders for Christmas until the 19th December, with delivery taking place the morning/ afternoon of the 24th December in Ericeira and Lisbon. Alternatively, you can also collect your order in Gradil on the 23rd December.

Our Frenchie’z have no funny or hidden ingredients. Fermented and aged to give it the smooth and creamy consistency. They are made with organic and Fairtrade Cashews and different spice blends or dried fruit and nuts.
And our packing does not contain any plastic!

Did you know that I used to manage weddings and other events in the Middle East for a couple of years before I started to enjoy cooking? 👩🏻🍳
Would have never thought that one day I will be the one stirring the pot. Still very different to working in a hotel though. I was giving instructions to different departments and although it was a team effort which is an amazing sense of achievement after a big event, I find myself much more connected to the events I cater to now. Not because am giving the instructions to myself 85% of the time 😅 but because I can use my professional knowledge and expertise to make your day as memorable as can be.

What I love about my job is that it’s never the same. Every event is different; it can be easy-going or formal. Casual or fine dining, sometimes even a bit of both. It depends on the occasion and who your guests are. Having someone taking care of your culinary needs means less stress for you: not having to think about what you are going to cook, the shopping, preparing, cooking and the cleaning up. It allows you to focus on your guests and be fully present while enjoying restaurant-like service with a tailor made menu. It can include bits and pieces like some mildly smoked garlic butter or end with individual Fraisiers with a Meringue Dome. 🍓

The season will help you determine what to serve at your special day. For example, strawberries on your wedding or birthday cake will taste better in the summer than it would in January, they are more nutritious and more environment friendly. Even the location of your wedding can play a part in what you eat. We work with local farms to provide the ingredients for your event. Even picky eaters will appreciate your vegetables more if they know you're supporting local farmers with a commitment to sustainable agriculture.
Why have fresh produce travel the globe when you can support the local community and serve fresher veggies?

Some of you know the surprising details behind the name “Portela da Ginja” but there are a handful of reasons why we had to change it to something that is more representing of who we are. I would have never imagined that we will actually get this far, we were just “going with the flow” during Covid. In many aspects we were, and still are, very lucky but that doesn’t mean that we didn’t hold each other accountable.
With our new name (that also expats know how to pronounce 😉), also comes a website (link in our bio) where you can get to know us, my service, Matt’s products and where to find them, check out upcoming events (it’s Retreats for now, sorry) and have all the info you need just a click away.
