During last week’s episode of Good Morning America, show host Robin Roberts took a tour of Portugal and the Algarve region, including beaches and caves, and broadcast live directly from Benagil Cave, an Algarve gem that has become increasingly popular due to social media influencers. 🏖️

Over two million Americans visited Portugal alone in 2023, and 10,000 already live here full-time.

Digital Nomad Visas in Portugal are attracting more interest, with the Algarve region among the most popular destinations as a result of its relaxed lifestyle , good weather, and combination of stunning beaches and secluded countryside, according to a report by the Portugal Resident.

According to the article, 49.9% of visitors want information on prices and properties in the Algarve, with the region remaining “the most desired location for UK and Irish buyers”.

As stated by the article, the Digital Nomad Visa in Portugal is also very advantageous and is “relatively simple compared to other residency permits”, requiring “much less documentation than other visas and permits”, according to lawyer Agatha Bulha, who last year partnered with Lagos Digital Nomads to host a talk focusing on the Digital Nomad Visas.

UK citizens eager to relocate to according to Portugal Resident newspaper.

With the recent Portuguese general election and the potential changes ahead, the Portugal Resident newspaper reports that citizens are ever-more interested in learning more about the various aspects of relocating to Portugal, with “a strong demand for the latest updates on and regulations” as well.

UK citizens were also interested in more “details of moving to Portugal, including employment opportunities, educational institutions, healthcare providers, and the cost of living”.

Portugal’s southern Algarve region has always been a favourite retirement haven for Brits, and now it is also attracting younger crowds planning to live here permanently, according to the Portugal Resident newspaper. 🌞

“The Algarve, once mostly a preferred destination among retired or older British citizens, is becoming increasingly popular among younger British buyers and families,” states the paper. 🏠👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Because both countries are in the same timezone, flying between the UK and Portugal is also very easy and makes the region more attractive to younger Brits. ✈️

The number of international schools (in Portugal) tripled, and we are seeing new gyms, coffee places – and more co-working spaces. There are a lot of new developments coming out, like co-working and co-living spaces, and younger crowds are looking more frequently for permanent moves. 🏫

“We have always had a lot of British clients. In the beginning, they were only buying property, whereas now we have a bigger percentage of British clients that are doing the Golden Visa or another legal migration process – either to relocate here or to plan for the future,” said Patricia Casaburi from Global Citizen Solutions, an organisation that helps people buy property and move abroad. 🌍
