Born as João Mei, but better known by their aforementioned artist name, they have a very diverse background in life, which definitely finds a way into their music in terms of how diverse and unique the sound of their music can be. Their music features influences as diverse as 80s Disco, Electro, Chicago House, Detroit Techno, Body Music, and more, leading to a dynamic and one-of-a-kind sound that
has no boundaries when it comes to genre dynamics and forward-thinking explorations of sound design and electronic music production. In addition to creating music, meibi is passionate about performing to an audience and uses their DJ-sets to create electrifying and unique vibes. As a DJ, they hold 2 residencies, perform regularly at East Lisbon Afters (ELA / Unlogical), one of the most exciting music collectives in the city and Palms, a newly eccentric bar-restaurant located in Costa da Caparica, Portugal. In addition to that, meibi also co-founded a periodic rave event titled Maiuma X Bunker, which is held in the southern margin of Lisbon, the Portuguese capital.
