This week I started to train a new member who will work with the Sebze team this year (and hopefully longer)!She reached out over instagram asking if I needed help and offered a bit about herself and her favorite recipes. I was eager to meet her as she’s from one of Turkey’s most foodie famous cities and from her instagram she appeared to be a dynamic and interesting woman.

A week later we met in person and spent a morning chatting and making desserts. After she left I was overcome with such a wave of gratitude for the people who come into my life because of Sebze. The women on my team are artists, musicians, erotic models, photographers and brand entrepreneurs, and I am flattered that they want to share their time with my business. I couldn’t do this job alone and the girls behind the scenes with me know first hand how hard this work can be and they still keep showing up 💪

For those who follow and are interested in collaboration- I always give those a shot who reach out. I don’t hire anyone with prior experience (as I’m figuring this all out myself 😝) and if you have a glowing passion that you want to bring to Sebze please say hi!

I was with my four year old son over the weekend at a playdate when one of the other moms said to her children, “can you watch what you’re doing? We didn’t come here to get injured!” I couldn’t stop laughing at how much that felt like advice for my life, not a child’s.

My journey in the kitchen is one long parade of bumping into open drawers, banging my head on cabinet corners, dropping the knife on the floor and slicing my leg on the way down or generally just acquiring new burns, one after another. If you have the pleasure of seeing me after I finish a retreat I look like I fought a wild animal off with my bare hands they’re so scratched and raw. It really feels like I show up to my creative space just to get bruised and injured.

Many doctors now believe there is a correlation between those diagnosed with ADHD and clumsiness. I’ve lived with both my whole life and have come to accept that I get to embrace both being energetically vibrant as well as being severely accident prone 🥴

There’s something magical about the trio of cheese, honey, and nuts—a combination that keeps people lingering around the serving board. The rich, savoury notes of cheese, whether it’s a tangy goat or a buttery brie, are elevated by the sticky sweetness of honey. Add the satisfying crunch of toasted nuts, a sprinkle of thyme and you’ve got a dish thats impossible to resist.

After six years in Turkey, cheese at a breakfast is a must and I always make sure my clients enjoy this simple pleasure as much as I do 🐭

People are always asking me if they can have my recipes. The thing is, I don’t have any. Each time I hop in the kitchen I am experimenting with familiar ingredients in a new way. My approach to falafel especially resembles a game of “telephone,” with each batch slightly different than the one before. Lucky for me, the one consistency is that they’re always good 😘

A few weeks late but proof that we catered our first Thanksgiving Dinner as well as hosted our own 🦃

Food was gone before we could really capture it and the pictures we did grab hardly do the feast justice, but, as a catering team which finds most of our inspiration from Turkish cuisine, diving deep into our American half felt share worthy 😜

✨Slow roasted turkey with citrus and stuffed with every herb I could find
✨Cranberry sauce with cardamon and currants served beside red wine gravy
✨Sourdough stuffing with turkey juice baked vegetables
✨ Thyme and honey carrots topped with slivered almonds
✨ Maple syrup pecan sweet potatoes
✨Parmesan and truffle oil mashed potatoes
✨Brussel sprouts with crispy bacon and pomegranate gems
