Thank you to the 32 global young leaders class of '24 for all of their energy, enthusiasm and participation in this years programme which was hosted by our fantastic member, Portugal Travel Team, in Lisbon.

The event itself included workshops and educational content relating to learning and sharing best practice in the incentive travel industry. In addition, we also got the chance to experience some of the best that Lisbon has to offer.

📣We are delighted to share the following update on plastic pollution and protecting the environment from our Member in Costa Rica, Premio DMC Costa Rica :

Starting August 21, 2024, Costa Rica will be implementing the “Law to Combat Plastic Pollution and Protect the Environment N°9786.” This new law aims to get rid of single-use plastics like straws, bags and bottles, helping us move towards a greener future.

We support this initiative whole heartedly and will do our best to comply and support sustainable tourism where we can, including offering reusable bottles to each participant at the beginning of their program.

These bottles come in vivid colours, which participants can personalize with fun nature stickers at a tour Water Bottle Station during hotel check-in. It’s a great way to stay hydrated and cut down on plastic waste.

Every little bit helps, and by choosing reusable options, we’re all playing a big part in protecting our beautiful environment and supporting a sustainable future for Costa Rica.

Three (3) new resorts will open their doors by the end of 2024, offering guests incredible conference possibilities. The IBEROSTAR Grand Aruba, located on the wonderful Eagle Beach, Secrets Resorts located at Baby Beach San Nicolaas and the luxurious St. Regis Resort, located on the Palm Beach are amazing additions to the variety of world class resorts offered in the Dutch Caribbean.

UNESCO & Heritage Sites: The programme incorporated visits to UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including a captivating tour of Sintra and the Lisbon coast.

Belem Cultural Experience: Seamlessly combined culture, landmarks, history, gastronomy, and entertainment. Participants gained insights into Lisbon’s maritime history while savouring its world-renowned pastries.

Custard Tarts Exploration: Lisbon is famed for its custard tarts so we built an experience around this iconic treat. After sharing the intriguing story of these delectable pastries, we then headed down to a waiting catamaran to sail and indulge in a custard tart tasting session.

Founded in 1973 euromic is a non-profit association, who’s founding members sought to differentiate themselves from other incoming agencies as they began to specialise in true destination management services. They were pioneers of inbound incentive travel and destination event management. During it’s 47 years of existence euromic has established itself as a select group of tried and tested professionals with global membership of carefully vetted DMCs who specialise in the M.I.C.E market.
