6 years in business! 🥳🥳🤩

Anyone who knows me knows that I value the present, the now, because I don't know what tomorrow will bring. Life is a box of surprises...

When I created NAME IT, I was going through a period of profound change in my life... I was pregnant with my first daughter and had just left my first job, where I had been for 12 years.

Everything was uncertain... except my desire to continue bringing ideas to life.

I started slowly... very slowly, always taking small steps, and then a pandemic hit. At the time, I had another job in between. This job gave me even more experience and helped me grow even more.

These were times of change, but somehow I always remained optimistic and realistic in my plans and objectives.

I continued to take those small steps, correcting things here and there, improving others, excluding services and adapting my offer.

And here we are! Celebrating 6 years in business

I couldn't be happier and more grateful for everything I've achieved and for all the support I've received during this journey alone.

Thank you to everyone who is part of our story... to my absolutely incredible family and friends who give me advice whenever I ask and are always there for me; to my dear brides and grooms who trusted and trust me for such a special day in their lives and who create and develop a relationship of great closeness and friendship with me, and undoubtedly to my fantastic partners.

I'll keep going along this incredible ride!

THE SILENT NINJA

Accomplishment at every level was one of the things I felt when I read these absolutely incredible words from dear M&F, but I also let out a laugh because I had never been described as a "ninja". 🤣

But perhaps that's a way of describing me and it's one of my goals, in addition to all those that M&F have used to describe the experience of working with me.

One of the most important things, is also having the ability to ensure bride and groom are feeling comfortable and secure while having to dedicate themselves to their work and personal lives, without this compromising the organization of the wedding.

It's undoubtedly a team effort, where everyone - vendors included - is working for the same thing and wants the same thing, in other words, we always want the BEST!

M&F, your words are amazing and a source of motivation, gratitude, and the will to continue on this path.

Wedding planning is (mainly) about finding the right solutions for the couples.

For this, having ideas and thinking carefully of new possibilities to tailor them to the couple's wishes is what makes it a special and unique day.

2025

Although I'm still receiving a lot of requests for 2024, the 2025 season is already beginning its planning phase.

I have always said, and firmly believe, that there is no minimum time to start planning a wedding, as it all depends on various factors such as the focus and flexibility of the couple.

However, it is true that the sooner the better!

So... 2025 is already in the oven and I'm very happy with the ideas you're already bringing me! 😎

MINEFIELD

I once received an initial enquiry where the bride mentioned that they had started to plan their wedding a few months before but were utterly lost in the process and felt that wedding planning was like a MINEFIELD!

I always remembered this email because I never thought of this process as a MineField, but thinking of a bride/Groom perspective, I got it and started to look at it differently!

It is a new challenge and experience for couples that do not work or have any connection to the events industry, and it does have some details that need double attention.
But overall, it is a fantastic experience.

The three most important things to help you with this are:

➡ To keep focused

Be faithful to what you envision and to your priorities.

➡ To be open to new ideas/suggestions

Listening to new ideas or suggestions is always great. These ideas or suggestions come mainly from experienced vendors who only want the best for your day and advise you to accomplish that.

➡ To communicate

Never keep it for yourself if there is something you are not comfortable with or may have yet to understand perfectly.
Communicating is the best and most efficient way to plan a wedding.

INTIMATE & THOUGHTFULL

The M&F wedding was the last of the season and took place on the first day of autumn, which gifted us with a sunny & gorgeous day.

Being an intimate destination wedding, M&F planned it to a tiny but meaningful detail.

From the traditional Pastéis de Belém to the crazy time at the party with the Hora Loca tradition, ending up with some Tequenos and Bifanas.

All this was to create the most memorable and unique wedding day for M&F and their family and friends!

It was a nice, fun, epic & memorable day!

(Estar em) SINTONIA

It is the feeling of being aligned in thought and feeling.

However, in Portuguese, I believe the word "Sintonia" gains a more expressive meaning.

This is what I feel - Sintonia - towards my dear bride I. and groom B., particularly, but also towards everyone involved in this wedding.

A process that began in July 2021 and ended at the beginning of August 2023, with changes and additions along the way.

I couldn't be happier with the result...

This wedding was a faithful and perfect example of what it is for me to work in events and wedding organizations.

It is listening, understanding, communicating, respecting, sharing, suggesting, organizing, fulfilling, and executing.

All this with a team with the same goal = to meet our couple's I&B expectations.

IMPORTANT: Decor credits to our lovely H., mother of the bride, who also played a vital role throughout the planning proceed.

So... we were all in "SINTONIA".

I&B, thank you so much for your trust, support, and friendship, and dear H. big thanks for the knowledge, the attention, and the brainstorm you kindly brought to the process.

I am Rita, the face behind NAME IT, Weddings & Events.

Still in the celebration mode but because I want to welcome everyone who joined me here, here I am to tell you more about myself.

My career as an Event planner started 16 years in the international corporate event management world.

Working in an environment characterized by different budgets; time zones; cultures; deadlines; expectations, and the pressure of all of this, I have developed a great sense of detail and personalization in my work.

After this incredible experience, I decided to pursue something (even) more meaningful and gratifying.

NAME IT, Weddings & Events was born from my honest pleasure of being surrounded by my family and friends and experiencing memorable moments.

It comes from the belief that experiences make life worth living and from a sincere satisfaction in making others happy!

Being in such a competitive and demanding industry for five years is a great achievement!

TRUST

I remember our groom I. telling me a few days before the wedding: "I know things will go wrong..." and I remember what I answered immediately: "things will not go wrong. There may be challenges or changes, but it does not mean it will go wrong."

I firmly believe in my words. 😅

After 15 years of planning & coordinating events, I know how hard it is to follow a plan 100%. But, sometimes, changes or adjustments are for the best.

Our commitment to a great result (with or without changes) makes the difference.

And for this, we need to TRUST each other!

I am so glad and honored by these words from R&I, and I want to thank them again for the excellent opportunity to meet them and to take part "in the most important day of their lives" (groom's words!! :))🥰

HOW TO... GET STARTED! We have all been there: a lot of inspiration all over us, wanting to deal with everything at once because all you can think of is your wedding day coming to life! It all makes perfect sense, don't worry! But there are ways to do this and make you feel at ease with the process. My top bit of advice is to get in touch with a wedding planner - if you feel like getting professional help and guidance for this process - or map out your plans and ideas if you don't want to.
