The decision to 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝘄𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 is a hotly debated topic with no right or wrong answer. Ultimately it is a personal choice made by the bride and groom.

My advice is: Do what works for you. There is no right or wrong answer.

If you choose to have children attend your wedding, I recommend 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘆!
You will be happy you did and their parents will thank you.

PRO TIP:
𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀 – chicken fingers, pizza, and whatever suits their fancies! Kid’s meals could be less expensive, but they are also fast, fun, will keep them entertained and they will actually eat!

𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 – choose to have a kid's table (this will depend on their ages) or have them sit with their parents, and give them something to do! A goodie bag of coloring books, toy cars, stickers, and maybe a little candy will keep them busy while you get through dinner and speeches. Kids love to make cards and present it to the bride and groom so let them craft it up.

Have I ever told you why I create something new for Christmas?

Since I was little, I have enjoyed playing with paper and creating postcards for my parents.

However, these weren't just any postcards. With the help of scissors, various papers, paints, glues, and ribbons, I created more than just postcards. What made it truly special was my wonderful parents, who received my cards with the same love they had always shown me.

The years passed and I never stopped sending postcards, whether they were from cities I visited, a birthday card in the mail, or a personalized thank you card from a very special day in our lives.

But let's return to the topic. This seems to be an innate part of me, and as the Christmas season draws near, I find myself with an intense desire to create new items. I never quite know where to start, but I do know that whatever I create must have a special meaning for whoever receives or uses it.

This is not a cliché or a made-up story that I’m sharing with you today.
It's pure reality.

I don't know about you, but for me, Christmas means family, togetherness, love for those around us, and a longing for those who have passed away. It's a mix of emotions that warms my heart and is marked with memories that make me want to do it all again.

For the significance Christmas holds for me, I can’t create something that stands alone without imparting some meaning or evoking emotions within us.

This year, I'm introducing the Pet Advent Calendar as something new for you and in honor of our sweet Fuffy. This Pet Advent Calendar will always be more than a decorative object. It will be a way to create new memories and traditions, adding a distinct significance to this season by involving our beloved pets.

An afternoon wedding can open up your venue choices. You can hold an elegant affair in the conservatory of a stately home or country house hotel and maybe even have a string quartet playing as people arrive in the mellow afternoon light.

Consider your budget if you'll have an all-day wedding day.

It is lovely for you, and you’ll need to think carefully about your guests' wants and needs if you’re entertaining them from lunchtime through to midnight.
An all-day event goes on for longer.

If you’re holding your ceremony at 11 am then you’ll need to offer your guests refreshments immediately afterward and greet your evening guests with drinks and canapés before the first meal, whether it’s a buffet, formal sit-down, or something informal.

😏 Organize your wedding inspiration like a pro.

Pinterest is a wonderful tool to collect inspiration and you can organize your ideas by creating a few boards by topic.

These boards, with your saved pins, will be your reference when you’re preparing for meetings.
For example, wedding dresses, hair and makeup, accessories, wedding party, gifts, flowers, stationery, music and lighting,.

This way, by creating boards, you can start organizing your inspiration, and later, you can invite your vendor to see your boards online.

Here goes a PRO TIP:
Before your meeting with your vendor, select 7/10 photographs for each category instead of having 30 or more, because less is more, and your vendor will understand your ideas clearly.

You should start gathering addresses as soon as you start planning your wedding.
You’ll need these addresses to send your Save the Dates.

Postable.com is a tool that will save you hours texting and calling your wedding guests to get their mailing addresses.
The website will create a customized link that you can email to your guests that allows them to add their mailing information directly into a digital address book that only you can access.

Remember this 👉 Log the email and phone number of your guests on the same spreadsheet.

I'll share one professional fear, if you could refer to it as that... but it's my main focus before the production of any item, and the step you should give more importance to.

I'm sure you have already bought personalized items, and we often look at the final work and read it diagonally, but I have to tell you that it's in that moment where the biggest mistakes can happen.

For example, most of our items are personalized, and therefore, we always send the digital proof for confirmation of approval.

I proactively ask you to reread the digital proofs before production.

It's a big responsibility and that's why I always insist on proofreading...

From my experience of 6 years as a stationer, the percentage of error is less than 0.8%, but they still happen,
and it's heartbreaking when you notify me about them.

So, I need to share this pertinent advice with you...

Whenever you buy a personalized item, whether online or not, please 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗶𝘁, as you never know if your brain hasn't identified any mistakes 🤷‍♀️

The story of why the wedding ring is worn on the left hand can be traced back to ancient times. In that era, the Romans believed that the vein in the ring finger (the fourth finger) on the left hand connected directly to the heart. Because of this belief, they called that vein the “vena amoris” or vein of love. Naturally, to solidify a union based on love, they’d place the ring on that finger that housed the vein of love to signify the romance the newly married couple shares.

What most people don’t know is that the hole in the center of the ring also has significance - it’s not just space, but rather a gateway or door.

Our modern-day understanding of biology says that all your fingers have vein connections to the heart, but in keeping with tradition, couples place the wedding ring on the fourth finger.

Thank You Cards...
𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻, but the most frequent question is if it's okay to email thank you cards 😬

Well... my opinion is that technology is an amazing tool, but email is not the proper way to thank your guests. Your guests will feel appreciated and loved receiving your thank you notes by mail.

Important tips:
👉 You have three months to mail your thank you cards.
👉 If you will write them by hand: write 4/5 cards each day, setting aside 15 minutes before your favorite TV show and send them the next day.
👉 If you buy printed thank you cards: make sure you personalize them. The big advantage is that it will prevent any written errors, and it’s a real time-saver.
👉 The last big tip: add a photograph of you both as newlyweds on your big day, and it will serve as a charming keepsake for your guests.

The last 7 months have been the lowest point of my business.

And there's one thing that isn't going as I had envisioned.

Rustic Chic is an established brand.

I believe in my potential and creativity.

I possess everything I need to create the perfect stationery and accommodate all ideas from our couples.

I wonder where I went wrong.

But instead of wasting time delving deeply into the problem or feeling dispirited, I focused on something much more positive. I focused on finding a solution.

I chose to rebuild or reroute because it's not game over until you stop playing.

And I'm taking the best possible actions for my business:

🌈 I've been providing even more support to each couple.

🌈 I'm more dedicated than ever to accommodate requests.

🌈 Who benefits? The intricate details on each piece we create.

𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 might not be quite as fun as tasting wedding cake flavors, and I bet that brings you some anxiety. These tips below may help you 👇

1. Start by setting your total guest count, then divvy it up among you, your parents, and your future in-laws.

2. Your friends are in various stages of relationships, so where do you draw the line? Add a note in the rsvp card that you reserved “2” seats in their honor, for example.

3. Let your guests know if you will include kids or not at your wedding.

4. Limit co-workers.

5. Cut carefully. Try to trim in groups (all second cousins, plus ones, etc.) to avoid hurt feelings.

6. Set a Deadline. If you don’t hear back from someone by the date indicated on your invitation, call. Your caterer needs to know and you need to know!

7. Include names on the response cards. Yours wouldn’t be the first wedding where a guest crams two (or three or four) names onto one line, even though the invitation was made out to one person. The way to avoid this problem is to print the guests’ names onto the RSVP card.

Creating my own wedding invitations was overwhelming [read more]

I did it alone and didn’t realize how demanding it would be.

At first, it was fun to choose fonts, layout styles, wording, and papers, but as I got deeper into the process, it became overwhelming.

I had to trim everything, assemble it, and buy more materials because I didn’t purchase enough on the first day of shopping.

Days later, I realized that I didn’t have enough paper, and the same paper was out of stock.

Not to mention the same lace I wanted to use was no longer on sale.
