Adventures in the fjords, the city of Bergen, then back to Oslo for a couple of days of “downtime” 🤣

Round two started with a cruise along the 17 km Naeroyfjord, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list and named the most beautiful, dramatic, and wildest arm of the Sognefjord. Another flight took us across to Bergen, the “heart if the fjords”. As the second-largest city in Norway it had real small town charm combined with a a metropolitan feel. From here from we completed a monster 7 hour road trip back to Oslo, spending two days checking out the city, markets, eating A LOT, exploring some of the quirky suburbs, and hitting up a very cool sculpture park.

An action-packed first first few days jammed with breathtaking beaches, remote lakeside cabins, ancient fishing villages and of course the magical northern lights ✨✨✨

From Oslo we flew north to to Tromso, drove to Santorgholmen and then on to the insanely beautiful Lofoten Islands. From here we visited Henningsvær, Kvalvika beach (where the birthday mountain climb took place!) followed by the old village of Nusfjord, nestled beneath the mighty Lofoten mountains. Dating back to 1905, the cluster of around 50 red rorbu cabins used to house fishermen, while those that couldn’t afford such luxuries would instead turn their boats upside down for shelter.

So happy to do this golden hour beach shoot, celebrating the birthdays of two beautiful best friends.

With several outfit changes, a stunning natural backdrop to play with, and two of the happiest most playful subjects, we got some gorgeous shots. The girls were on top form and it was an absolute privilege to be able to capture the love between them 💖

I recently had the pleasure of shooting Sri and Satish, the Co-Founders of an AI powered eCommerce solution called Increasingly. It’s always exciting to be invited to capture headshots, especially when it’s for the kind of innovative tech companies I create copy for! We spent the morning using the stunning backdrop of Vale de Lobo to get a variety of shots for their website, social and PR. Starting with this article, which celebrates their five year journey so far:

A big thank you to Sara for organising. And to Sri and Satish for being such easy and effortless subjects!

If you’re interested in arranging a shoot or want to know more about my relaxed, informal and fun sessions, feel free to drop me a message :)

Huge congratulations to Project Harar for helping give one very special 6 year old girl a second chance at life. This is a great example of what makes this charity so incredible and why their work is so critical...

Last year in Ethiopia we had the pleasure of meeting Negalem, a beautiful and gentle little girl with a benign tumour that had been rapidly developing since birth. Without treatment, Nagalem would have gradually suffocated, or starved due to her inability to swallow.

And so began a worldwide search to find doctors skilled enough to treat Negalem, which brought her to husband and wife team Dr. Teresa O and Dr. Milton Waner who agreed to conduct the $500k procedure.

With the help of Project Harar Negalem and her father were flown from rural Ethiopia to Manhattan. The 12-hour procedure was one of the most complicated procedures the doctors had ever done, quoting that "On a scale of 1 to 10, this is a 12".

The surgery was a success and the swelling is expected to go down over the next few months. Negalem will now have a chance to attend school, make friends, and live a healthier, happier life thanks to the efforts of Project Harar and the US team.

I feel beyond proud to be a part of this mission, both personally and from a photography perpective. To see my photos being used at the start of these videos affirms the reason I do what I do. To help spread the word about the way Project Harar helps change lives, raise awareness and generate support.

My turn to be infront of the camera 🙈

It doesn't take much for me to get excited about new tech. So you can imagine my excitement when one of my best mates asked me to review a nifty new piece of kit built by his company 😁 Check it out, the magazine wrote some lovely words about me too. And please excuse my poor attempt at looking natural.... https://professionalphoto.online/wickedly-fast-workflow.../

You’ve read the review, but what’s the innovative new Kingston Workflow Hub going to offer the working pro? We caught up with globetrotting photojournalist Carrie Tang to find out.
