We are really fortunate to work at the most beautiful nacional monuments, where you can have a fairytale wedding.
The São Marcos Palace was built in the mid-20th century on the ruins of a four-century-old monastery belonging to the Order of St. Jerome. When the order was abolished, the monastery became private property.
Inspired by 17th century palaces, the architect Leonardo Castro Freire designed the building that now houses the Palace. It was the official residence of the Dukes of Bragança between 1954 and 1975.
Subsequently, the Palace was acquired by the Portuguese State and later given to the University of Coimbra to be used for events and to enhance the heritage and landscape.
Velvet’s main focus is to provide an exclusive service.
This means we are not a “wedding factory” and “packages” do not define what we do.
A wedding is a unique day that a couple will always remember as one of the happiest days of their lives. We understand that an exclusive service and differentiated treatment throughout the process is essential for them to feel secure.
Having someone with experience, who is totally available, who assists in every detail related to the event and who looks after the client’s interests should be a priority.
This type of service requires almost 24/7 availability, a lot of dedication, discipline, patience, meticulousness, among other things. That’s why we limit the number of events per year. Each couple is unique and is treated as such, because each client deserves our total dedication.
Providing an exclusive service means prioritizing quality over quantity. The level of demand, availability, dedication to the client, attention to detail and ex*****on is very different when we are managing 5, 10 or 30 events per year.
That’s why we believe that the specialization and quality of each wedding service provided is the key to a successful outcome and a memorable event.
