Social Language Events

Social Language Events Make friends in your city and practice your foreign languages! On weekends. Social Language Events is a language exchange concept in Romania.

It promotes meetings mainly between speakers of all languages (Romanian, English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, etc), with the aim of networking and of practicing / improving the foreign languages in an international and friendly environment. At Social Language Events is not as in school. Here you can learn another language directly by conversations with skilled, and native speakers. It is one

probably the best way to learn a new language. The events take place regularly. While enjoying your time with many different foreign language speakers, you will discover a warm atmosphere in the best places all over your city.

"A classroom is an artificial setting for a process which could be learned naturally. Studying or analysing the theoretical aspects of how a language is constructed is in many ways the antisthesis of what language is all about– the impulse to communicate with another person. It’s a bit like learning to drive by analysing how an engine works, rather than ever being behind a wheel and negotiating traffic. Really one is theory and the other is practical knowledge, awareness and skill."

How does volunteering help language learning? We asked Cambridge University examiner, language school owner and Workaway host Jane from U.K. for her opinion.
